There are 4 spaces available on the 6pm Beginners Class tonight, and the 7pm Intermediate Class has spaces on the waiting list, so book on NOW so you don’t miss out!! .

Power Is Everything!
Well, it is when it comes to the pull on Sn**ch and Clean and if you're not in the right position to generate power, you're on an uphill struggle.

Using your body to generate force is key in lifting. This week's lifting classes will focus on being able to generate power through being in the correct positions to do so.

Mytholmroyd Super Fun Weightlifting Competition 20/07/2017

Looking for more weightlifting competitions? The only way to get competition experience is to well, lift in competitions.

Lifting on a platform in front of a crowd is very different to lifting in training or classes and the more events you lift in, the more used to it you will become.

Competition practice is necessary for you to develop the skills use 'use the atmosphere' and enjoy the benefits of all the hard work you put it.

And remember, you don't always have to aim for 100% + in a competition - you could use it as a gauge as where you are in your training at any given point, helping you keep on track.

Mytholmroyd Weightlifting Club host many big regional events and in August they are holding a fun and friendly event.

They are always keen to come and help us with our events so if you are interested in lifting in theirs, here is the link to enter.

This week's lifting program will focus on your Jerk. We will take you through various different drills for you to practice your dip, drive and most importantly receiving and recovery.

Take a look at this post from a few weeks ago and the technical points.

As guidance, for the Beginner class you will be starting out in your training for Olympic lifting and this will be an ideal opportunity for you be introduced to the split and learn some points to take away and practice.

For Intermediate you will be already doing Clean and Jerk over bodyweight.
