✨ Deficit Diaries Week 3/6 ✨ and... my weight hasn't moved. Not down, but also not up. Just sat there looking at me like "that's all you're getting this week."

A few years ago I'd have panicked. I'd have started eating less, slashing calories, doing more cardio and let a scale dictate my mood.

This week? Not so much 😇

Because when I look at the bigger picture, it's actually been a great week.

Nearly 20,000 steps a day on average, 4 strength sessions, 2 runs, decent sleep, loads of fruit and veg, plenty of protein and energy levels through the roof.

I also went out on Friday, drank Aperol, ate pizza and chips and had a wonderful time... I don't regret a single bite.

The scale might not have moved this week, but life certainly did 🥰

There were dog walks, sunshine, family time, good food, training sessions I enjoyed and lots of little moments that reminded me how lucky I am.

So no, the scale didn't move this week. But my energy and fitness did. My consistency and my mindset definitely did. And if I keep doing this stuff consistently enough, eventually my body won't really have a choice but to catch up.

Week 4. Let's have you ❤️

Today’s cardio brought to you by 5 emotionally complex dogs 😂
Blue is excluded from that statement because he is just the most perfect angel boy 😇💙

✨ Deficit Diaries - Week 1/6 ✨
Started a little fat loss phase alongside the Reset girls this past week so thought I’d do a weekly recap because:
1. Accountability 😌
2. I actually think seeing realistic fat loss phases is way more helpful than perfectly curated “what I eat in a day” content 😂

This week’s highlights/lowlights:
- Ran a half marathon and briefly lost all function in my ankles afterwards 🙃
- Therefore, step count this week = questionable
- BUT recovery > forcing steps whilst my body was fighting for its life

- Got back into the gym
- Ate afternoon tea with my Nanna and Sister 🥹
- Watched my niece’s first stage show 💖
- Ate chocolate
- Ate pasta
Did NOT survive solely off sadness and chicken

Also very happy that despite:
✨ meals out
✨ recovery week
✨ slightly chaotic schedule
✨ being less active than normal
…the scale trend is moving exactly where I’d want it to: I'm -0.65kg this week 👏🏻

And that’s probably the biggest thing I’m trying to show the Reset girls at the moment.. Fat loss does not need to look perfect to work.
You can: eat out, enjoy yourself, recover properly, have off days, live like a normal person
…and still make progress if you stay mostly consistent 🥰

Stay tuned for week 2! 😘

I eat chocolate every day during fat loss 🍫
And I think more women would benefit from doing the same.

One of the most underrated fat loss skills is learning how to include foods you enjoy without it spiralling into “well I’ve ruined the whole day now” 😭

It's not the single chocolate bar that causes the issue... it’s the binge/restrict cycle that comes from trying to avoid these foods completely, and then inhaling half the kitchen by the weekend.

Chocolate (or crisps, ice cream, takeaways, whatever your thing is) needs to become something you can eat sensibly & normally and not something that only appears during a full blown “fck it” moment.

One thing I personally find really helpful is buying individually wrapped things instead of giant sharing bars/bags, because having a natural stopping point helps me psychologically.

If you give me a family size dairy milk, there’s every chance I suddenly lose all memory of how many rows I’ve eaten 👀

Fat loss works much better when you learn how to include foods you love in sensible amounts instead of constantly trying to avoid them altogether.

Share this with someone you think could benefit ❤️

Most people think they want option B until they realise it doesn’t come with a dramatic before/after transformation in 17 minutes 👀

Because option A FEELS productive. You get to:
- start fresh on a Monday
- buy loads of healthy food
- announce to everyone that “this time is different”
- become obsessed with your fitness watch
And convince yourself you *love* plain chicken and that almonds are the best snack ever!

Option B is far less sexy.

In short it's just... Showing up consistently even when life is still life-ing.

Most of the women I speak to don’t struggle because they “don’t know what to do”. They simply keep trying to maintain routines that are completely incompatible with being a busy, working, tired human!

Respectfully 😌 if your fat loss plan only works when you’re having a perfect week, it’s probably not a very good fat loss plan 🙃

Well, well, well. That was absolutely horrific 🙃

Leeds Half Marathon ✅
2 hours 2 mins ✅
Sub 2 hours? … respectfully declined by the universe and my lungs ✨

Genuinely THE hard thing I’ve ever done. By the last 1k I was fully fighting for my life 😭 hyperventilating, chest tight, neck tight, legs gone. I stumbled over the finish line looking like someone had replaced my gels with pure vodka.

BUT I did it 🥹

And that’s what I'm most proud of. Not the time (which my ego is choosing to ignore right now.. ) but the fact I kept going when every single part of me wanted to stop.

Shoutout to my top tier support crew! Especially Poppy for the most beautiful handmade sign 🥺 and whoever handed me that Aperol Spritz... 🤝

I now understand why people train specifically for endurance because WOW. My respect for runners has gone through the roof 😂

Pass me a barbell! 😝

Omg Poppy 🥺 I was nervous about today but apparently I now have a homemade support crew and a cardboard medal waiting for me 😭

I don’t finish it’ll actually be embarrassing after receiving elite-level support like this 😭😭😭
