⚽️📢 𝗙𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 – 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘
The Leeds & District FA is pleased to announce plans to introduce 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, with the first competitions expected to commence during the 2026/27 season.

To ensure these competitions are developed in a sustainable way, the introduction of female cup competitions will be 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀. Our ambition is to establish a full programme of female district cup competitions across multiple age groups within the next 3–4 seasons.

Before finalising our plans, we are seeking feedback from clubs across the Leeds & District FA area.

We would be grateful if the 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 of each club could complete and submit our questionnaire, providing details of:

✅ Female teams currently affiliated to the club
✅ Age groups that may wish to participate
✅ Expected levels of interest in District Cup competitions
✅ Feedback to help shape future competition formats

Congratulations to 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝗻 𝗙𝗖 on winning the Leeds & District FA Sunday Senior Challenge Cup following a thrilling and closely fought final at Leeds United FC, Elland Road on Thursday evening 👏

🏁 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲
⚽ 𝗣𝘂𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗙𝗖 𝟮 - 𝟯 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝗻 𝗙𝗖

The final provided an excellent spectacle for supporters. New Inn FC took an early 1-0 lead before Pudsey AFC responded strongly to turn the game around and lead 2-1. However, New Inn FC showed great character to fight back and score twice to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory and lift the trophy.

In hot conditions, both teams produced a high-quality and entertaining contest, with the outcome remaining in doubt until the final whistle. It was truly a match that could have gone either way.

Commiserations to 𝗣𝘂𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗙𝗖, who were worthy opponents and played their full part in a memorable final.

👏 Well done to both teams for a fantastic cup final and a great advert for grassroots football.
