FULL TIME | TRANS PENNINE IRONS FC 3–3 YORKSHIRE SPURS

A six-goal thriller at Kippax Welfare Sports & Social Club as we came away with a point after an entertaining 3–3 draw against Yorkshire Spurs.

There was plenty to be encouraged by from today’s performance, with goals from Zack Turner and a brace from Ben Lennon.

Going into the game, we decided to try a new formation, and it was a change that worked really well. The lads adapted to it, showed a good understanding of the new system and produced a performance that gives us plenty of positives to take forward.

Of course, there is some disappointment at not taking all three points, particularly with this being the first game under our new manager. We would have loved to mark the occasion with a victory, but the performance showed plenty of promise and gave us a strong foundation to build on.

There were some really encouraging passages of play, plenty of hard work from the lads and a great response to the tactical changes.

A 3–3 draw isn’t the result we wanted, but there is a lot to take from today’s game as we continue to build and develop as a team.

Thank you to Yorkshire Spurs for the game and to everyone who came down to Kippax Welfare Sports & Social Club to support us.

We go again.

A NEW ERA FOR TRANS PENNINE IRONS BEGINS TODAY

We’ve been a little quieter than usual since our game against Shrewsbury as we’ve taken some time to get a few things in place behind the scenes. We’re now ready to move forward and focus on what comes next for the club.

We can officially confirm that Clyde Longcake is now the Manager of Trans Pennine Irons, taking over from Damien Locke, who has stepped down from his position as Manager.

Now it’s time for a new chapter for Trans Pennine Irons, and we’re looking forward to getting back on the pitch and focusing on the football.

Our next game is this Sunday against Yorkshire Spurs, and we can’t wait to get going.

Up the Irons.
