⛳ A great golf course deserves a memorable finishing hole, and the 18th at Garforth Golf Club certainly delivers.

Measuring 431 yards from the back tees, the challenge starts from the moment you step onto the tee. A narrow chute of trees frames your drive, with out of bounds running the entire length of the left-hand side, while trees and a deep fairway bunker wait to punish anything pushed right.

Find the fairway and you're rewarded with a beautiful downhill approach towards the clubhouse—but the hole isn't done with you yet.

The long, narrow green slopes from front to back and right to left, with two bunkers guarding the entrance. It demands one final accurate approach to set up a chance to finish your round in style.

It's a hole that asks for commitment, precision and smart decision-making right until the very last putt.

🏆 Another Huge Win for Garforth Member Jake Wallis! 🏆

Congratulations to Jake Wallis, who has added another impressive title to his growing list of achievements by winning the Peter Alliss Trophy at Burnham Beeches Golf Club! 👏⛳

Over three superb rounds, Jake finished on an incredible 10-under par, securing victory by just one shot in a thrilling finish.

The win brings with it some fantastic rewards, earning Jake a place in a HotelPlanner Tour event in 2027, along with playing rights on the Clutch Pro Tour—a brilliant opportunity as he continues his golfing journey.

Everyone at Garforth Golf Club is incredibly proud of you, Jake. Congratulations on another outstanding achievement, and we can't wait to see what comes next!

⛳ A Remarkable Piece of Garforth Golf Club History

Nearly a century ago, leading golf journalist Kolin Robertson visited Garforth Golf Club and was full of praise for the course.

He wrote:
"Garforth is now stretched to its limit and can no longer be termed a short course... there are several holes which can be termed excellent tests of the game."

He reserved special praise for what is now the 15th hole, describing it as "one of the most beautiful fours in the Leeds District" and highlighting the strategic decisions golfers faced from the tee.

He even recalled the "sheer bliss" of watching his playing partner make a three there—a score that plenty of our members would still be delighted to card today! 😄

It's wonderful to look back at how Garforth was viewed almost 100 years ago, and how many of those qualities still make the course such a pleasure—and challenge—to play.

His piece in full read: "Garforth is now stretched to its limit and can no longer be termed a short course... there are several holes for the golfer which can be termed excellent tests of the game. The 6th hole (now the 15th) for instance is a beauty. It is one of those holes where a golfer must decide his policy from the tee and either go as close as may be to the out of bounds area, or else reluctantly put aside his noblest ideals and play pawkily to the right, short of the ditch with his second and then a mashie niblick with the third. It is one of the most beautiful fours in the Leeds District, and if I add that my opponent holed out at this testing hole in three shots, it is in no spirit of boasting for my friend, but merely to recall a sensation of sheer bliss."
