The Morley Water Polo Club team helping to officiate not just the National Conference Waterpolo League, at the same time our mens team were playing, 3 members of the club were officiating the Northern League Competition in Rotherham, we provided 2 table officials and a referee.

Morley has always believed that it's important to develop players, officials and athletes, not just for the benefit of the club, but also for the benefit of the sport regionally.

As a club we provide 90% of all referees to the Wakefield and District League.

Our coaches are involved with the regional development centres, our members are team managers for the regional age group teams, and our commitee members provide key management roles in the running of the sport within the region.

So on a weekend of celebrating our teams success in Qualifying for the National Conference league, let's not forget the wider impact the club has on Waterpolo across the region.

​For over 130 years, Morley Water Polo Club has been a cornerstone of our community. Throughout our long lifetime, we’ve had the honor of developing incredible talent—from GB swimmers and world-class polo players to literal Olympians.
​But yesterday, we added a brand-new, historic chapter to that legacy.

​🏆 The Road to the National League

​Our men's team headed into the qualification tournament with one goal: to secure a spot in the Sports National League. In a display of grit and world-class teamwork, we took down two massive contenders:

​✅ Defeated Coventry
​✅ Defeated Crawley

​Because of these incredible performances, we are officially the first-ever national team in the history of Morley Water Polo Club!

​This success didn't happen by accident. The development of our players, officials, and coaches has been at the very core of our recent resurgence. By investing in our people at every level, we’ve built a foundation that can compete with the best in the country.
