Today is EUROVISION 🎢🎷🎸🎺πŸ₯πŸͺ‡ but is also the day that Joel Rhule-Samuel ran the whole LCW, yes, the full LCW loop, 100km.

He did it to raise money for Maggie's Yorkshire , and he went above his own target.
MAGGIES is a charity that supports people facing cancer, and they definitely will be able to keep helping with this money raised today.
You can still donate here if you feel like you can contribute πŸͺ™πŸͺ™πŸ’°

Joel's day started super early, waking up at 4.30am, and starting his journey at Golden Acre Park car park, setting of at 5.30am.
He finished it just after 8pm. LONG DAYYYYY out and about.
He, luckily, got many friends and family supporting him. Cheerleading, food, drinks, providing the mental encouragement, running with him, all the logistics, etc. A huge team effort.

Abbey Runners - Leeds organised themselves to cover all the legs with him, taking turns on each leg handover. He didn't run a single leg on his own.

Thank you Thomas Rogerson Simon Jones Liam Jenkins Charlotte Knowles Andrea Cobo IbÑñez and Tom Bysouth for all the support.

Now ready for bed.

CONGRATULATIONS 🌟🌟🎊🎊🌟🌟

No stopping Abbeys in the run up to Christmas πŸŽ„
Firstly, the annual lights run around Golden Acre Park (with chocolate elves!) and then over 40 Abbeys out on Thursday split between the city centre lights run and the joint seasonal session with our friends at Leeds Bradford Tri Club, and then a great turn out for the joint milestone Parkrun at Roundhay 😁

🌟 Throwback Vibes & Recent Runs 🌟

In this fast-paced world, it's easy to feel like posting anything from days or weeks ago is already outdated. But we believe that every run, every race, and every sweaty finish line is a memory worth revisiting!

Here’s a recap of all the amazing moments Abbeys have shared over the past 2-3 weeks:

1️⃣ Target parkrun for Mike & Rachel's wedding
2️⃣ Spooky 50th @_karlp Parkrun πŸ˜ˆπŸ‘ΉπŸ¦΄πŸ§›β€β™€οΈπŸ§Ÿβ€β™‚οΈ
3️⃣ Liz and Liz's daughter after the Leeds 5K series, which was a YVAA Championship qualifying race. Liz won her age category, and Anna got sub22 PB.
4️⃣ & 5️⃣ Settle loop, 7 Abbeys and amazing weather.
6️⃣ Jasmine and Thomas touring looking for new parkruns.
7️⃣ Our superstar Kirsten in Torremolinos last week, representing the GB team. She did amazing. And so did Ross. Even if we don't have pictures, he deserves the mention, ending 4th in his AG.
8️⃣ @adelbythesea ran the Chicago Marathon in 3h35'25, which wasn't the PB he was aiming for, but still amazing.
9️⃣ Last week track session, with some dynamic and fun exercises to practice quick moves.
πŸ”Ÿ PECO prep. Hills session at Chevin, which will probably repeat in 2 weeks time.

If we missed any milestones or unforgettable runs, tag us so we can keep celebrating these moments together!

And remember… PECO is just 3 weeks away! Time to lace up, train hard, and get ready for the finish line! ⏳🏁 #AbbeysRunningClub #RunTogether #PECOCountdown #MemoriesInMotion 27/10/2024
