How Generosity and Partnerships Keep Paperworks Moving At Paperworks, managing daily deliveries and collections at our Seacroft site is crucial to keeping our operations running smoothly. For nearly a decade, we relied on a donated forklift to help load and unload deliveries.

Sometimes we only see a small part of someone’s story

When we pause and widen the lens, we start to see strengths, abilities and quiet talents that may have been overlooked.

There is more to every person than meets the eye.

One of our clients requested us to send 670 valentines cards in one day! Our trainees took on the challenge and completed it no problem.

It might seem like a simple task…but folding a card, putting it in an envelope, sealing it, adding an address label and a stamp builds so many important skills.

Through this one activity, our trainees developed:

Fine motor skills- folding along a line, sliding into the envelope and pressing the seal down all strengthen finger control and hand-eye coordination.

Sequencing- they learn the correct order. Missing a step shows why order matters.

Attention to detail – lining up edges to make sure the envelope closes properly and placing the stamp in the correct corner requires care and precision.

Organisation- gathering the cards, envelope, sticker and stamp encourages planning and preparation.
Responsibility- understanding that an individual is relying on them to send it correctly.

Sometimes the simplest practical activities are doing the most behind the scenes.

Our talented trainees have been busy working away in Santa’s workshop, crafting their very own handmade Advent calendar. Each pocket has been carefully designed, decorated, and packed with love.

Now the big question is… what magical treat is waiting behind each door?
Will it be a sweet surprise? A tiny Christmas craft? Or maybe a little message of holiday cheer?

Thursday prep day at Paperworks!
We’ve been getting jars ready for our new client 🌿✨
Our trainees took on the labelling stage, carefully preparing each jar for its next step: filling with scent.

Every jar isn’t just a product — it’s a chance to grow skills and confidence.
Here are some of the abilities our trainees develop through this task:

Peeling, positioning, and applying each label with care and precision.

Repeating a process accurately across many items.

Our staff are celebrating — but as their own superheroines! 💪

At Paperworks, we’re working on a special project with a grand reveal coming up on 5th July… and today’s celebration is a little clue. 👀

Our amazing trainees believe being a superhero isn’t about flying or super strength. It’s about being brave when life gets tricky, being kind when someone’s struggling, helping others, staying creative, and believing in yourself, even when you feel small.

To all our followers: you have a superpower too.
It might not be something you can see, like flying or shooting webs, but it’s there.

Maybe you’re a great friend.
Maybe you’re a puzzle master.
