New car!! Swopped the french car for a french car! Picked up a well prepared Renault Clio a few months back! It's had some v fast crews in it before us so no pressure at all! First time out in it was at the end of January 26 on the Dukeries track day which was a good blast! The car performed well and was straight forward to drive and handles very neutral. All was good and we were looking forward to The Snetterton Stages Rally the week after. Would like to say the rally went well and was pretty plain sailing, but no that would be no fun would it?! Had issues on Stage 1 as the blower on the screen was mistakenly shut by us just before the stage start. Also the heated screen stopped working + smoke started coming from the back of the switch panel . Stage 2 ok and 21 seconds faster I think it was. Stage 3 to 5 more problems, power steering started failing and the engine was gradually losing power. After Stage 5 we decided to call it a day and have an early bath before we caused more damage to the engine. The day after we discovered that compression has been lost on all 4 cylinders,so it's engine out time unfortunately for us! βΉοΈπ© Impressed with the car itself, very well set up and a proven good performing car so π€ crossed we'll be out in the not too distant future but had to pull our run on the East Riding Stages Rally unfortunately! βΉοΈ We'll be back soon though!

Extremely late update from us! Been on the 'to do list' for a while now but only just doing it now, better late than never! So after several rallies in the ex works Citroen DS3 R5 we said goodbye π to it just after the Jim Clark rally earlier this year. As we've stated before we've struggled alot on correctly setting up the suspension for bumpy tarmac. Spent countless hours adjusting it every which way possible but just could not get it to work how we wanted. The car would (without warning) constantly try to throw you off the road even going in a straight line. We could get it to work ok on smooth tarmac but not at all on the bumpy tar found on the UKs closed roads. We are more than prepared to accept that 'its us' that can't set up a car, maybe so. But a descion was made shortly after the Jim Clark that it needed a new home,so off it went! Believe it's changed hands a few times now and is in Ireland. So spent a few months now with no rally car and no rallying, but it's hard to stay away forever.

Our Jim Clark rally ended midway through the Friday stages for reasons that are insignificant. We all know the risks associated with Motorsport but we do it anyway. RIP Dai Roberts and get well soon James Williams from everyone at Aire Rally Sport.

Borders Competitions Jim Clark Rally 2025. Recce, scrutineering and shakedown done β all good and made some final tweaks to the suspension this morning during shakedown. As ready as we can be, weather good tonight (Friday) but forecast rain tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good run!! π―π€©

Well a busy few weeks for us,crammed in more rallies than usual now that we feel that we have the car handling properly. After a successful trip to Pembrey not long after we were on our way to Anglesey to compete in the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship SMC Stages on Sunday 13th April 2025. Overall a good day for us! Happy to report that everything was working well, the tyres, set up and we felt that we had the right approach to the rally. Happy to finish 11th overall and 4th in class βΊοΈ Only a week later we were heading North to compete in the NHMC Warcop Stages on 20th April 2025. A rally that we've not competed on before but happy to be there and asked to be moved up a little from our seeding which was thankfully granted. The most technical of the three recent rallies that we've done but again the car and crew worked well. Was running just outside the top ten for a while but dropped down a bit in the afternoon and also came across a bad crash that resulted in the stage being stopped. Thankfully the crew were safely extracted after help was quickly on the scene. This was not such a bad scenario for us personally as we'd just picked up a puncture so a nominal time for us was welcomed! Both really well supported and well run rallies!! Thanks as always to the organising clubs and the many Marshalls which without we all know that we wouldn't be able to do what we love! πβΊοΈ

Sunday March 30th 2025 Kath Curzon Memorial Rally down at Pembrey Race Circuit run by Port Talbot MC. Never been here before looks a good place, probably a bit faster and smoother than we were expecting with a few technical bits too. Plenty of nice machinery here, for us let's just say it's not been brilliant few months for us so just getting round today and getting some mileage would be nice! ππ€ππ

East Riding Stages 2025,been running a few years now and I'd say it's a well established rally now and should be around for years to come! As usual a really well organised rally and the BRC crews were flying at the front. Not a good day for us though,as before the rally had even started we had a front drive shaft problem on the way to Stage 1,only found out seconds before starting the stage. Don't know what Citroens technical term is for this component but I'd call it a drive shaft tensioner. As I understand it it puts a certain amount of lateral tension on the driveshaft to keep it in place in the diff housing. Without it there the shaft is free to come out. We were handed this by a Marshal just before the start! So needless to say the shaft came out straight away in Stage 1! 3 wheel drive made for a very slow stage time and another early bath π We'll get it right one day! π€ Fab fotos from JCCB Rally Photography πΈ check their page out!

First rally of the year for us after what has turned out to be a bit of a long layup for us towards the end of 24 start of 25. Handling issues really blighted our season in 24 which we believe to of been front and rear diff related. Both front and rear diffs+ the gearbox have been out and been repaired,so hopefully we can have a proper handling car for this year!π€ Seeded Car 61 for the 4th running of the 2025 East Riding Stages Rally in Beverley which is also a round of the Probite British Rally Championship with some of the world's best crews on front of us! 9.29am start time for us running at 1 minute intervals,ok weather this morning but possibly worsening in the afternoon. Good luck to all crews competing today!
Good little rally report ππ―

Late update I know,JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion 2024 . The positives first, what an absolutely fantastic rally! Surely one of the best closed road rallies in the UK? Definitely top 3! Being a round of the European Rally Championship you kind of expect it to be very well run and well organised-and it certainly was. Scrutineering was let's say a little keener than normal but we just about managed to get through! The stages wow! Both technical and fast with plenty of challenges for all crews. Unfortunately for us our handling issues still persisted, despite us taking many steps to try and rectify it the unpredictable handling was still very much a problem for us. The stage times would lead you to believe it was our first rally with us running near the back, but for us to push more it would only end one way in a crash. So the tough decision was made to pull the plug before the two Aberystwyth street stages on the Saturday evening. Not what we wanted to do but the right decision all the same. Before packing away we decided to drop the oil in the rear diff and the real problem came to light. Looks like either the crown wheel or pinion (or both) is breaking up with a few big chunks of metal in the oil. Time for us to fix it before the Jersey rally in October but we will now have to miss the Hills Ford Stages down in Worcestershire in a few weeks. We'll be back to fight another day,but as the saying goes - that's rallying! ππ―
