🎭✨ WE’RE BACK! ✨🎭

We’ve absolutely loved being back at classes this week and seeing all our children again, picking up where we left off before the summer break! ❤️

Tonight, our drama classes with Liz took us into the world of Greek Mythology after a catch-up with Lynne and, of course, our warm-up.

Working in small groups, the children worked super hard to bring their Greek gods and goddesses to life, and we loved seeing their creativity, confidence and teamwork shine! ⚡️🏛️

What a brilliant first week back! 👏🎭✨

Classes start back this week ....we can't wait to see all our Scala munchkins and hear all their news .

Every handwritten note, every kind word and every little message means more than you probably realise. Behind every class, rehearsal, performance and show is a team who genuinely care about giving children a place to have fun, make friends, build confidence and discover what they can do. 🎭✨

So when a parent takes the time to write a card, it really does mean the world.

We've kept so many of them over the years, and looking through them is a wonderful reminder of just how special the Scala Kids community is. 🥰

Goodbye Noah !
After 17 years in the soap Scala’s Jack Downham made his final appearance as Noah Di**le in “Emmerdale” this week.
He made his first appearance as Charity’s son at the tender age of 7, but he already had a strong CV under his belt having appeared in several screen and theatre productions from an early age.
His first TV role was in “Heartbeat” when he stole everyone’s hearts as 4 year old Peter endearing himself to the cast and crew, not only was he word perfect on set but happily did his own stunts ..they loved him.
He then travelled to Berlin to film a “Whiskas” commercial ..the cat bit him and was sacked and replaced with a less feisty one but the ad ran for years.
Aged just 6 he worked with renowned director Ridley Scott and actor Russell Crowe when they cast him as Young Robin in the Universal pictures “Robin Hood” the movie, … at his audition he’d no idea who they were but the three got on famously and he was subsequently booked .
Jack had a “lucky jumper “ that he was convinced got him the roles ..he wore it for all his auditions until he outgrew it.
His triple threat training at Scala meant he also appeared in many theatre productions including “Scrooge the Musical” where he played Tiny Tim alongside Tommy Steele, and “Never Forget” the Take That musical (he tumbled off a rostrum in a dance number but scrambled back up and carried on….no one noticed ! )
Jack has done us proud over the years, he pops in to our studios periodically and we all love him to bits .
We wish him all the very best for what we hope is an exciting future .
