It’s back to School!

Now the Summer Holidays have come to an end, Akashi Shotokan Karate Association based in Meanwood are welcoming new beginners.

We have two venues (Stainbeck Church and Holy Trinity Hall).
We provide up to 4 days training per week.

We accept new starters from 4 years of age who enter our Tigers class on Monday (4-7 years ) .

We then have classes aimed at 8 Years upwards including Adults.

The 4-7 years Can also train in additional classes.

Monthly training fees from just £35!

Family package’s available!

We have a great team of instructors and our Chief Instructor, Sensei Glenn Riley 6th Dan is a former British Champion and World medalist.

We are proud members of Karate England and affiliated to WUKF ( World Union of Karate Federation).

We have a large membership and are a very friendly and supportive Karate Dojo.

A great class this evening focusing on Empi techniques and Keri-Waza . Non stop Kihon, concluding with Ippon-Kumite . Focus is always on Kihon at this Dojo. If the basic technique is good, the rest will fall into place!

There are many interpretations of the term ‘Bushido’ – In Richard Amos Sensei’s book ‘Chasing Bushido’ it is defined as “the warrior code of honour”. This is a concept that we try to build into every class at Akashi, helping our students train with intensity, focus and honour – something we hope will serve them well throughout their lives.
