Enoeda Sensei was born in July 1935 on the island of Kyushu in Japan. Having initially trained in kendo and judo, where he reached 2nd Dan black belt, Enoeda sensei subsequently trained under Gichin Funakoshi sensei at the Honbu dojo in Tokyo. Following his death in 2003, Enoeda Sensei was posthumously awarded the rank of 9th dan.
Glenn Riley Sensei achieved Sandan under Enoeda sensei in 1999.
