ππ Bramley parkrun #479 β 5th September 2026 ππ
Well, Bramley definitely remembered to turn the wind machine on this morning! π¬οΈπ
It was a bright but breezy start to the weekend, and despite a few gusts trying their best to provide some unwanted resistance training, 208 people made their way around our course.
We also had a brilliant turnout from Idle AC, who joined us in force this morning! π A huge thank you for choosing Bramley for your Saturday morning parkrun fix β it was lovely to see so many of you out on the course and we hope you enjoyed our little hills enough to come back again! ππ
There was the usual brilliant mix of runners, joggers and walkers β some chasing times, some catching up with friends, some taking on Bramley for the first time and others simply enjoying their Saturday morning 5k. Thatβs exactly what parkrun is all about. π
At the sharp end, Dominic Casey led the way home in 19:11, with Jonathan Hitchen following in 19:31 and Nico Drinkwater in 20:29.
Katie Cooper was our first female finisher in a speedy 21:35, also taking 9th place overall. ππ₯
Further down the field there were plenty of smiles, determined finishes and hopefully only a few people wondering why Bramleyβs hills always seem slightly bigger on the second lap. π
Of course, none of this happens without the people in hi-vis. π
Today we had 32 fantastic volunteers giving up their time to set up, marshal, time, scan, hand out tokens, take photos, tail walk, process results and generally keep the Bramley parkrun show on the road. A massive thank you to every single one of you. π
If youβve been thinking about volunteering, come and give it a try. You donβt need any experience, weβll show you what to do, and cheering people around a park on a Saturday morning is a surprisingly good way to start the weekend. π
Thanks to everyone who came along and made event #479 another lovely Bramley morning.
See you next Saturday for another 5k, another catch-up and probably another argument with the weather. π

Another Saturday morning and another lovely morning at Bramley parkrun! πββοΈπββοΈππ
This week we welcomed 179 people who ran, jogged and walked their way around our wonderfully undulating Bramley course. π
At the speedy end of the field, Dominic Casey was our first finisher in 18:28, followed by Caleb Aylesbury in 18:49 and Tim Patterson in 19:08. π
Our first female finisher was Rachel Brown in a brilliant 19:34, finishing 4th overall. π₯
We also had some fantastic milestones to celebrate this week. π
π Lucy Smith completed her 50th parkrun
π Rachel Brown completed her 250th parkrun
π Gini Knight completed her 300th parkrun
Huge congratulations to all three of you β brilliant achievements! ππ
As always though, parkrun isn't just about the fastest times or milestones. Whether you were chasing a PB, enjoying a steady run, walking with friends, visiting Bramley for the first time or simply getting yourself out of bed on a Saturday morning, well done! π
A massive thank you goes to the 30 wonderful volunteers who made event #478 possible. From setting up and checking the course to marshalling, timing, scanning, managing the funnel, sorting tokens and everything else that happens behind the scenes, we simply couldn't put parkrun on without you. π¦Ίπ
If you've never volunteered before, give it a go. No experience is needed, there are plenty of different roles and it's a lovely way to see parkrun from the other side of the hi-vis. π
π This week's numbers:
πββοΈπββοΈ 179 finishers
π¦Ί 30 volunteers
π₯ Dominic Casey β 18:28
