1st Home win of the season for the blues!
A well deserved 3 points were won last night as we defeated AFC Alsager 3–1.
We did our best to give them some
Chances early on but finally settled down when Brayden Barlow made it 1-0. We stayed on top throughout the half, there’s always a bit of nervousness with just been a goal in front but it was Brayden again doubling our lead with a tremendous volley from just outside the box which fired into the opposite corner.
We came out a lot brighter in the 2nd half moving the ball quicker and were causing problems from the off, 2nd half Sub Kiru Assegid picked the ball up from our left and cut in side to pop one straight in the top corner to make it 3-0 2 top draw goals scored tonight! We managed the game well however Alsager pulled one back which in itself was an absolute worldy!

Some strong performances across the team Harry H, Kiru, All the lads were top draw but for us and those 2 Goals it goes to Brayden, he has been class since the start of the season, work rate, attitude are first class 👌🏻

Very quick turn around from last night as we take on newly promoted Eccleshall reserves at home tomorrow evening.

We started as we finished against Cresswell
Dominant in possession and carving the majority of opportunities in the first half although with that been said probably not worked the keeper as much as we would have liked. Corners Kept coming but with respect to Norton they had a couple they may have felt they could have done better with but so did we and it wasn’t until around 25 or so minutes into the game new signing Brayden Barlow twisted and turned his man and curled one straight into the top corner from outside the box what a finish!

The night was reminiscent of last time around at Norton, players limping off with injuries forcing our hand to change things round.

Second half they came out a lot stronger but our defence stood strong and there were really good performances across the park, Captain Rome Taylor organising from the back, debutant Kiru Assegid showing class in the middle, Everyone last night played their part but it was Bobby Wright who sealed the 3 points after a run From Reuben Pointon worked the keeper with a great shot the ball came across the box for Bobby to slot home.

Norton battled well and got one back but it tuned out to be a consolation. The lads managed the game well.

The fixtures are coming at everyone fast though out August! This Wednesday sees us take the trip to Community drive to face AFC Norton.

A tough result to take this after having the lions share of possession throughout the game, the truth is we should have had the game some in the first half but ended up going into the break 1-0 down.
Found ourselves on the back foot for 15 mins in the 2nd half and a mistake cost us to make to 2-0. We kept going at cresswell and managed to grab one back, new signing Brayden Barlow played a great ball to absorb debutant in Merril Ampofo who slotted into the net.
Plenty of positives to take from this, we played really well but struggled with only 2 subs due to holidays to freshen things up. on another day we finish our chances and the games ours! Onto the next one this coming Wednesday.
