OK, so not the best news from the hill today. Is it better to have tried and failed or never tried at all?
Sadly despite some heroic efforts the weather beat us :( With over 36 hours and 12,390 meters of ascent between us we had to admit defeat. The wind was brutal from the start and only got worse as the day went on. A huge thanks to our independent adjudicators, Phil, Andy and Carl for joining us and confirming the true horror of the conditions. But, we said we would do it in a day and so we will. Just not today. We learnt a lot today and will apply that to our next attempt.
Thank you to everyone who's sponsored us so far, we tried hard not to let you down, and it was your support that drove us on through the day. Sad but best wishes, Kevin

On 31st August 2025 Kevin from Leek Cycle Solutions along with Alister, Matt and Alfie are endeavouring to cycle the height of Everest in one attempt. (includes rest and meal breaks). This is a huge cycling challenge of 8849 metres (29030 feet) of ascent and the hill they have chosen is approximately 2 miles long and climbs approximately 200 metres each time, 43 laps and that makes a 173 mile bike ride! They are raising funds for @prostatecanceruk because Prostate Cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in men in the UK. 1 in 8 men will receive a diagnosis. Beast of a day training in Sunday, 126 miles, 5004 meters of ascent. Incidently that's the height of Cerro Bonete in Argentina, or closer to home it's the equivalent of about five times up Mt Eyri (Snowdon).
With 1 in 8 men being affected by this disease, every donation helps make a difference.
