Sleepy horses this morning!

One of my favorite sights is Badger rolling around in the grass with the sun on his back 🥰 such a happy boy.

When Paula Wroath and I first thought up making a track system, we found an image on Google of some horses around a bale and I used it as a drawing reference for a logo.

We ended up choosing a different design in the end, but yesterday I took a photo that nearly matches that original design.

Our dream was to have our own meadow hay, a stable herd, hedges and obstacles, scratching posts and dry pens, and of course most of all... freedom, forage and friends.

It's taken us almost a year, countless hours of work in the rain and the blazing sun, many helping hands, and one location change, but to stand back and see it in action, functioning better than we even dreamed, is truly incredible 🤩

It was a bit emotional for us both yesterday, seeing that vision come to life - our beautiful horse herd eating happily together on our very own track system 🥹

There's still a long way to go and a lot of work to do (as is always the case with horses!), but yesterday we were able to give ourselves a pat on the back and admire how content our horses are on this track, one that we've built with love and new understanding of what makes a horse truly happy 🥰

May the horse be with you 🐴

Loki (left) and Lark (right) are testing out the new pen mats. Thrilled with this set up now! They all take themselves into their designated pen (or their herd mate's pen - thanks Loki 🙄🤣) and tuck into breakfast.

This set up prevents any arguments over food, is accessed straight off the track, and is also great for rug changes, feet checks and tacking up.

All that hard work is paying off! 🥳

Sherry's first proper ride under saddle 🥰
She was a total angel and acted like it was no big deal. Even had a little trot! Thrilled to bits with how she's coming on.

Thanks so much Makenna Leigh for letting us share your schooling session 😁

The container's first victim 💀

Today's main job - constructing the container 🧑‍🔧And of course, Badger keeping an eye on his minions 👀🤣

The horses were very unsure about the new stones around the trough. Took Lark being brave to convince Loki to have a drink too.

Love seeing their interactions and body language when approaching something new at the track.
