A lot of comments have been made saying that the possession style of football doesn't work in League One. 🦊

Attached is the table showing the teams with the top 4 highest possession percentages.

Here is where they are currently in the table.

Leicester 17th
Stockport 3rd
Oxford 8th
Sheff Wed 7th

So, aside from Leicester, all of the top 4 possession based teams are currently in the top 8 of the division.

The statement that possession based football doesn't work in League 1 seems incorrect.

However, it does pose the question, why is it not currently working for us?

Is it because our squad is newly assembled or are we overdoing it?

We have the joint 5th youngest squad in League One. 🦊

Of these 27 players who have made an appearance, 60%+ made their Leicester debut.

We have a young, inexperienced squad who have only played together a few times.

Excluding the players left from last season Okoli/Souttar etc, it's a cheaply assembled squad, only Riis cost north of 2m.

(only includes players to have made a L1 appearance this season)

Yesterday, 550 Leicester fans responded to our poll. 🦊

“What should happen next with Russell Martin”

📊 74% want Martin sacked immediately, even without a replacement in mind.

⏳ 8% want to give him until at least Christmas.

⚖️ 8% would give him another 1–4 games.

🕒 4% would give him another 5–10 games.

🔄 Just 6% want him sacked now, but with a replacement already identified.

The message from the poll is clear: the overwhelming majority of respondents want a change now.

But is sacking Martin without having a replacement lined up the right decision?

What do you think? 🦊

Any chance we can turn this around in the second half? 🦊
