Eagles Blue's Vs Eagles Red's.

A brilliant game of football this morning at Johnson Road between ourselves & our other u11s side Bedworth Eagles U11 Juniors.

Half of the Fliers Team with Half of the Junior's in Blue and the other Halfs of the Fliers & Junior's in Red.

It was a pleasure to watch how well the 2 teams get on and some of the football & goals were excellent.

After the game yesterday we celebrated 2 of our mums 40th birthdays, Leanne (23rd May) & Hayley (1st June) with a big team picnic and an afternoon of games where the standard of rounders was surprisingly very high 🏏🤣

Dunlop Blacks Vs Fliers

The final match of the season saw us come up against Dunlop Blacks.

We started the match strong, knocking the ball round and playing some nice football but despite having the better of the game we found ourselves 2 goals down and we went in at HT behind.

Despite being 2 down at HT the team came out flying and dominated the 2nd half and with 8 minutes left the comeback was on, Thea's through ball found Olly and he finally got on the scoresheet after already hitting the post 3 times and the crossbar once, his initial effort came back off the post but he managed to smash home the rebound. 2 minutes later we were level, Ollys freekick was well saved but from the tightest of angles Tianna managed to loop it over everyone and the ball dropped into the far corner. The team didn't stop there though and after some great work out wide from Tianna, her cross was flicked on by Olly and Jacob was there at the back post to get the winner in the last minute.

A never say die attitude from the whole team today and what a way to finish the season.

Today's player of the match was Tianna. A constant threat down the left wing, always having the confidence to take players on and deliver some excellent crosses. Scored the 2nd from a ridiculous angle and then it was all of her hard work that led to the winner, well done Tianna 👏🏻

10.05.26 Fliers Vs Christ The King.

In our 2 previous games against CTK we lost 1 and drew 1 so we knew we had to be at our best to get a positive result this week.

With a bare 9 players and then an injury within the 1st minute we played the opening 5 minutes with only 8 on the pitch and somehow managed to take the lead, Jacob & Tom linking up well before Jacobs lovely finish into the far bottom corner made it 1-0. CTK drew level before Thea's ball over the top sent Olly through and he finished first time past the keeper to regain the lead. CTK then equalised for a 2nd time but we weren't level for long, Ollys shot came back of the post and Tom was quickest to react hitting the rebound high into the net.

The second half saw the team take full control of the game, Tom's inch perfect ball into the box was met by Olly to get his 2nd before that same combination again not long after sealed the win, Tom's ball inside was met by the run of Olly and he drove into the box before calmly slotting past the keeper to complete his hat-trick and score his 30th goal of an incredible season.

CTK did hit us a couple of times on the break in the second half but James stood tall both times and the back 3 of Noah, Max & Jack were like getting through a brick wall.

Today's player of the match was Jack. Really tough decision as the whole back 3 were incredible in the second half but a challenge early in that 2nd half from Jack set the tone in a half we went on to dominate, well done Jack 👏🏻.

Parents Player's this week after a tie were Lewis & Thea. Lewis never stopped running up and down the right wing all game and Thea was the best player on the pitch in the 1st half and got another assist to add to the collection, well done both.

23.04.26 Vs Ambleside Raptors

Thursday's fixture saw us take on Ambleside Raptors and it was a performance to be proud of, especially the 1st half where we looked as good as we have all season.

Thea brought out her inner Milan Van Ewijk and her long throw dropped to the feet of Olly in the box and he calmly slotted it past the keeper for the opening goal. We didn't have to wait long for the second, Karter's superb ball through to Olly and he brushed off the defender before firing it into the top corner for his 2nd of the game. Jacob then got on the scoresheet finishing from close range from Tom's ball into the box before Tianna was first to react after the keeper could only parry Ollys shot with the 4th goal.

We continued to push in the 2nd half, Olly unlucky to not get his hat-trick clipping the outside of the post. Max then went on one of his runs down the right and his ball into the box found Tom who finished well first time into the bottom corner. Tom completed our scoring getting his 2nd of the match after a decent run and finish. Ambleside scored 2 late on.

Today's player of the match was Olly. A constant attacking threat down the right wing again this week, linking up well with his teammates and another 2 goals to add to his goal tally with his 2nd being a cracking finish, well done Olly 👏🏻

Vs Racing Club Warwick

A game in which we weren't at our best, conceding 2 poor goals to go 2 nil down mid way through the 1st half. We created a couple of decent chances with 1 being cleared off the line and 10 seconds later the ball is on our own net to go 3 down and we never really recovered from that.

A quick turnaround for the players as we take on Ambleside Raptors at home this evening.

Player of the match this week was Tianna. Despite the game not going our way, we as coaches loved how positive Tianna always was with the ball, constantly running at the oppositions defence and putting some excellent crosses into the box, well done Tianna 👏🏻.

A new award that started this week was parent's player of the week, an award that was suggested to us by a parent and voted by the parents only and the first winner of this award goes to Olly, well done mate 👏🏻
