Fliers 3 - 2 SoccerRockz Tornados

The second week running where we took an early lead through Elison after his desire to win the ball eventually found him right in front of goal to score. It wasn't long before Elison had his 2nd, he shrugged off the challenge from there defender before smashing it past the keeper leaving him no chance. SoccerRockz pulled a goal back but on the stroke of HT Jacobs excellent pass found Elison & he thought he had his hat-trick but for some bizarre decision it was ruled out for a foul.

We continued to create chances in the 2nd half and we eventually did get our 3rd of the match, Tom's excellent ball down the right sent Olly through and his run was then finished with a lovely finish into the far bottom corner. Tianna then played Olly in again but his shot hit the post before SoccerRockz pulled another goal back but we managed to see the rest of the game out to secure the 3 points.

Today's coaches player of the match was Tom. We played Tom at RB today due to availability and he looked like he played there every week. His reading of the game was excellent, always looked in control and his assist for our 3rd goal was real quality.

Kenilworth Sporting 4 - 3 Fliers

A game where we took the lead 3 times but eventually fell to defeat conceding a late goal.

Elison scored the opener inside the first minute but Kenilworth equalised almost instantly. Elison then got his 2nd from close range after Tom's lofted ball into the box and we went in at HT leading 2-1.

5 minutes into the 2nd half Kenilworth equalised again from a corner but Olly regained our lead after some good work from Hanna. We then gave the ball away cheaply for Kenilworth to level again before they then went and got the winner with only a few minutes remaining.

Today's player of the match was Max. Kenilworth had some decent players but we knew they had 1 in particular who we tasked Max with trying to keep as quiet as possible & he gave it everything & battled for the whole 60 mins in true Max fashion.

Parents players were Max & Thea.

Vision Panthers 2 - 2 Fliers

We created a few chances early in the game but it was Vision who scored the opener against the run of play to give them the lead.

The Vision GK then made an excellent save to deny Olly but a few minutes later he did get us level, finishing well into the bottom corner after a good ball through from Elison.

10 minutes into the 2nd half saw Vision regain there lead after we failed to clear our lines. Chance after chance come and went with Olly probably coming the closest hitting the post.

With time almost up we won a corner which was swung in by Thea & it was Elison who got on the end of it to send the ball past the keeper with the last kick of the game and maintained our unbeaten start to the season.

Today's Scorers

Olly ⚽️ - (A) Elison
Elison ⚽️ - (A) Thea

Today's player of the match was Thea. A really gritty performance today from Thea where she made some great tackles all over the pitch whilst her deliveries from set pieces were excellent with the last one setting up our equaliser.

Fliers 1–1 Panjab Hawks
Fliers win 4–2 on Pens

The 1st round of the Cup this morning saw us take on Panjab Hawks from Tier 1.

Facing a team from 2 leagues above ourselves, we were expecting to be put under a lot of pressure but it was us putting the pressure on in the early stages of the game and we took a deserved lead inside 10 minutes, the Panjab defenders clearance fell to Hanna and she hit a low drive that squeezed under the keeper to get her first goal for the club.

We continued to create plenty of chances without putting any away and the missed chances came back to haunt us as Panjab got an equaliser before HT.

The 2nd half saw us create loads more chances but for some poor finishing and a couple of good saves from the Panjab keeper the score remained level. Panjab did hit the bar with almost the last kick of the game.

The team held there nerve and deservedly won the shootout to send us through to the next round.

Hanna ⚽️

Today's player of the match was Elison. An all action midfield display, worked his socks off all game, helped break up the play and was always a threat going forwards. The only thing missing from his performance was a goal.

Fliers 4–0 CTK Junior's Blue

An excellent performance from the team this morning who started there league campaign with a well deserved victory.

Olly opened the scoring with a good finish after a lovely ball from Max sent him through on goal before Tianna doubled our lead with a rocket into the top corner. Thea made it 3 before HT with a great strike from distance which was too powerful for the keeper to hold on to.

We continued to dominate in the 2nd half & we didn't have to wait long for our 4th of the game, Olly beat his player out on the right before his cross eventually dropped to Elison on the edge of the box and he calmly slotted the ball into the corner with a lovely finish.
