County Cup Action – Sporting Loughborough vs Emeralds Albion

Emeralds Albion travelled to Sporting Loughborough for a tough County Cup tie — a true test between two top sides. Sporting, unbeaten at the top of the Premier Division, hosted Division 1 leaders Albion, who had only lost twice all season. It promised to be a great battle, and it didn’t disappoint.

Albion arrived with just 11 players, but the lads were ready to give everything. Sporting started the stronger and went 2–0 up within the first 15 minutes. Albion needed to settle down and play our game — and we did. Just before half-time, Jakob whipped in a lovely ball and Marlowe rose highest to head home, making it 2–1 at the break.

The second half saw Emeralds right in the match, pushing hard for the equaliser. With 15 minutes to go, Elliott played a brilliant ball through to Lewis, who finished superbly to make it 2–2. The Sporting crowd went quiet — Albion were back in it.

With no further goals, the tie went to penalties.
Marlowe missed, but then:

Emeralds Albion kicked off their first County Cup match of the season at home to Luxe — and what a game it turned out to be!

Albion started brightly, taking an early 1–0 lead through Korey, before Luxe pulled one back. The hosts regained the lead when Marlowe made it 2–1, but Luxe responded with two quick goals to go 3–2 up.

Albion showed great spirit, with Korey grabbing his second to level it at 3–3, and then Marlowe netting his brace to secure a dramatic 4–3 win for the home side!

A brilliant performance from both teams, but only one could advance — and Albion fully deserved the victory. 💚

Game 5 of the season saw Emeralds Albion at home to Spinney Rovers, finishing with a strong 6–2 win.

After a slow start, the lads pushed on with two hat-tricks – Lewis (3) and Dante (3) – showing real attacking firepower.

The team effort shone through with assists from Chavez, Ellis, Marlowe, Dante, and Doody (2).

Emeralds Albion Game 4

Emeralds Albion travelled away to Beaumont Town for their 4th game of the season, once again without a full squad due to injuries and absences. Despite that, the lads pulled up their socks and put in a fantastic shift for the whole game.

The hard work paid off with a 4–2 victory, thanks to goals from Lewis Doody, Marlowe (penalty), and Daryn, with the assists coming from Doody, Rio, and Dante (2).

Emeralds Albion returned home in style, producing another excellent team performance to secure a 3–0 win against Countesthorpe United.

The lads set the tempo early, moving the ball quickly and creating plenty of chances. Ellis broke the deadlock with a tidy finish, before Korey doubled the lead with a composed strike. Dante rounded things off with a clinical goal to make sure of the result.

The creative play was just as impressive: Dante, Korey, and Lewis each registered an assist, showing how well the team is linking up going forward.

After a hard couple weeks in a division where it is very close at the top of the table the lads have played some decent sides that made us drop points which we dropped from 1st to 2nd but today starting in 2nd we played Oadby Owls who are a strong side who play decent football! But with the squad knowing we need to right the wrongs of recent weeks they battled for the whole 90 mins showing they have what It takes to keep pushing the top end of the table! Class performance all round today winning first and second balls playing good football and made the opposition work hard to try stay in the game🙌 class from every single person in the team 👏🏻 💯

After the last 2 recent defeats and clinging on to the top spot in the league 🤞🏼 we had to set the standards and get back on track in the county cup!

The lads started well dominating the game scoring a couple early goals 👏🏻 at half time we was only 2.1 up and discussed how we could Improve in areas and finsh the chances as we was creating so many in the first half. After more conviction from the lads we started thriving and putting them away with ease to come away with a satisfying score line 👌🏼 to put us back on track 💯

Oadby owls 4 Earlshilton Albion 6

The lads went into the 4th league fixture unbeaten against an unbeaten Oadby side with both sides winning the first three league games.

With the heavy rain 🌧 this morning it was touch and go if the game would be played after the ref said the pitch was unplayable we got moved to the astro turf .

The game got underway credit to Oadby came flying out the blocks and put it to the lads as we got to halftime we was 4.1 down.

Second half began and the lads ran riot scoring 3 goals in 7 minutes 👌🏼 and finally seeing the game out to a good 6.4 win.

They all dug deep and got the job done ✔️ 👏🏻 to carry on pushing up that league table and make a statement in div 2.
