Telford pickleball tournament doubles in size The Pickleball English Open starts in Telford on Thursday, with 2,000 participants.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to go to a pickleball festival but wasn't sure you would want to commit to a full day?
Pickleb have decided to open up Sunday's festival to players that would like to see what it is all about - for free! You can come along for 90 minutes and enjoy as much play as you can squeeze in.
The great things about festivals is that you get to play with players from other clubs, so you meet new people, experience different style of play and experience the joy of playing recreational pickleball - just like you do at your club.
So what is holding you back?

I will be there on Sunday and I look forward to meeting as many new to festival players as I can.

🚨 EPC & PRE-EPC OPEN TOURNAMENT 🚨

Teams from EPF member countries will be competing for the title of 'Champions of Europe' on 23rd and 24th November 💪

The event will include an opening ceremony with all teams entering the venue in a march past, behind their countries' flags 🇪🇺

We're also hosting a PRE-EPC Open Tournament for all competitive pickleballers who do not make their national teams to be part of this historic event!

Registration is now open for all Member Countries (except UK members) and registration will open for all countries on Monday 25th March!

What an article in today's Telegraph on the sports of pickleball and padel
About the struggles for these two sports to be recognised in their own right, and not just to be a feeder sport to tennis!
I like many others, believe that pickleball deserves to be approved as an individual sport accordingly, both on the domestic and world stage.
The board of Pickleball England, it's county representatives, it's many volunteers and members have worked tirelessly to grow and develop not just the opportunity to play and compete, but put in place, the structure to support, and manage our sport, long into the future.
The headline "Racquet sports at war with the LTA" just about sums it up, as after more than four years, and many, many hours of effort, the LTA now wish to become the National Governing Body(NGB) for our sport. Personally I think it is an outrage!
Having been pursuing recognition from Sport England for our organisation to be the recognised NGB for pickleball, time, effort and resources will now need to be spent to fend off this LTA takeover! When in truth it would be far better spent on concentrating, as we have done up to now, in the furtherance of Pickleball. Many thanks Elaine Shallcross BEM
