Happy Bank Holiday Monday from all at WTC.
The match season takes a short break for half term so here is the half way report.
Mens 1sts
A tricky start to the season with defeats against Leicestershire and a strong Newtown Linford team which was followed by an important win over Market Harborough. Despite closing out the first half of the season with a defeat at an LFE team who will surely contest for the title, the lads are in a reasonably strong position to find a couple of wins in June to secure their division three status.
Ladies 1sts
A similar feeling for the Ladies as the Mens 1sts after picking up one win from the four fixtures. WTC continue, in many ways to punch above their weight in Division One and with a home heavy fixture list to close out the season, there will be some excellent chances to pick up some wins.
Mens 2nds
4 wins from 4 after 9 from 9 last season sees the 2nds holding some excellent momentum in their division five campaign. With Sileby and Houghton also holding 100% records and fixtures against both in the next three weeks, the more challenging matches lie ahead but every reason to think that back to back promotions are a possibility
Mens 3rds
A perfect four for four from the 3rds too. With a little more breathing space at the top and some really consistent performances across the team, the feeling amongst the 3rds can in may ways be the same as the 2nds. One target, promotion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking ahead, the Over 40's league gets going for all teams with back to back home games for the Mens and Ladies 1sts this Sunday. 2nds take the trip out to Charnwood.
Summer League action resumes on Saturday with 3rds in Rothley, quickly followed by the 2nds at home on Monday. Both 1st teams have home fixtures later in the week as the Men welcome Gynsill and ladies take on David Lloyd. 4
Five home fixtures as the match season gets back underway and if that isnt enough, the Mens National League team welcome Leicestershire on Saturday at 2pm.
