1939 - Jack Harris, the Headmaster of the Turolough School, who was good enough for the "lads" except when he was "in a temper" thats when he would administer correction with a holly stick or his foot !
A teacher named Frank Mee and scholars derived great enjoyment when one afternoon there was a violent tussle between him and the Headmaster.
It was well known that the school became very over crowded

The Calvary which stood high on a hill in Cademan woods off Turolough road behind the old Catholic school- and although it was known as the Turolough school {now a private residence} entrance to it is on Carr Hill road.

I had the privilege and opportunity with my Son a few years back to look around the Monks quarters of the Whitwick Monastery, although Women are allowed to visit in the lounge area, they are not permitted anywhere else in the complex.
