It's F2 at the club tonight. Doors open at 7pm
Leicester Electricity Slot Car Club
This is the home of the Leicester Electricity Slot Car Club. A new state of the art slotcar track in the centre of Leicester, racing Friday evenings.
Welcome to the new Leicester Electricity Slot Car Club page. This summer (2015) a new state of the art track will be built in the centre of Leicester with a view to getting racing going in September. The types of cars that will be raced have not yet been completely finalised. They will be cheap, fun and fast however. Watch this site for developments over the summer.
Racing this Friday is cancelled. Leicester City have a fixture against Millwall and so the club room is unavailable. Back next week with F2...
We are closed this Friday (Good Friday) because Leicester City are playing at home.
Next week (April 10th) we will be looking to race the Carrera cars (all being well) for the first time.
Hope to see you then...

It's a shame the live feed failed last night: - wifi issues. Still a cracking night's racing though with 9 home members getting involved with everyone breaking 100 laps. 1/24th Hawk / Eagle powered cars at 11 volts work really well around the track...
Friday night we race 1/24th cars to OG12 spec but with Hawk / Eagle motors. This is our fastest class. Doors open at 7pm, kit is available to use and the first night is free.
Slot stox racing at Sileby with the Midland Slotstox Racing Association
Tonight is F2 for Hawks and Eagles. Doors open at 7pm and if you don't know what this means you don't race slot cars...

Apologies for the reel being side on... My phone doesn't support landscape video. An excellent night as always using 26K cars. The racing is always really tight. This is tonight's race sheet...

On Wednesday night three racers from Leicester Electric visited Oaklands Park Model Car Club for a night of saloon car racing. A couple of their members used our club cars as they hadn't any cars of their own. Initially they started with the Proslot 26k motors, but having got used to them, they progressed to the Hawk6 cars. Both of their members did well racing these cars and seemed to enjoy the night.
For beginners these cars are an excellent option. They are Richard Mack chassis fitted with a Betta 10thou shell. They also have front wheels and because they don't have chips and are fitted with a very cheap motor, they are cheap. Finally these cars are over 10 years old and are literally bomb proof!
Something to think about for clubs trying to attract new members...
