This week, we are excited to see the first steels going up for the new Sports Centre!

The new sports centre will include;

- Large sports hall, available for a wide range of sports including Table Tennis, Basketball and Badminton

- Gym

- Multi- Use Function Rooms

- Meeting Room

- Quality Changing and Toilet Facilities

⚽Fleckney Athletic AFC are now recruiting for the 2026/27 football season!⚽

With teams across a wide range of junior age groups, Fleckney Athletic offers the perfect opportunity for young players to train and play in an inclusive setting based at the Fleckney Sports Centre site.

🏏New Season at Fleckney Village Cricket Club!🏏

Fleckney Village Cricket Club are ready for the new season, with opportunities for juniors from 4 years old up to Under 17 Cricket (as well as adult men's hardball and women's softball sides).

FVCC is the perfect club for juniors to enjoy their cricket whilst improving their skills in a fun and welcoming environment! Get in touch with the club for more information.

Sports Centre re-development update 🪏🪏

Demolition of the old sport hall is now complete, with the ground being cleared and levelled out prior to footings going in.

Thank you to everyone for using the temporary walkways and using the car park considerately. Water has now been cut off to the remaining part of the pavilion, so we can no longer offer toilet use inside the building. Porta-loos are available to use in the car park.

Sports Centre Re-Development Update

This week demolition has started, as we said a final goodbye to the sports hall after over 40 years of service to Fleckney!

Around the site, archaeology works continues and the portaloos have now arrived for use in the Car Park. Thank you to everyone for their patience in using the temporary walkways, we are aware it can be a bit of a long way around the site!

Please be aware that all sports hall sessions and hiring have now finished for the re-development of the building.

The 3g Football pitch will be running as normal throughout the building works.

We will be posting regular updates on how the building works are going and what you can expect from the new building, so keep an eye out here!

🔨Sports Centre Re-Development Update🔨

From Monday 9th March, the building compound (compound area shown in the picture) will be put up on the sports centre site.

This will mean pedestrian access to the main recreation ground areas will be via:

- Pathway between the artificial football pitch and the bowls club

- Temporary pathway at the back of the children's play area

Please note during the build, car parking will be limited especially at weekends when sports fixtures are taking place. We encourage all those able to travel by foot or bike to the recreation ground.

Once the compound is in place the first steps in the works will include digging of utilities with this leading to the demolition stage.

The Sports Centre will close on Saturday 14th March 2026. The artificial football pitch will continue to be open to hire during the build.

Gemma Taylor Health & Fitness will be running a free 1 to 1 Pilates taster at Fleckney Sports Centre on Wednesday 25th February.

🔨Sports Centre Re-Development Update🔨

As we move closer to the start of work on the new sports centre, you may notice some moving of equipment this week around the recreation ground. This will include:

- The Pyramid Climbing Frame will be removed, this will return to the recreation ground when the building works are complete.

- The Outdoor Table Tennis Tables will temporarily be removed and re-sited when possible.

- The Outdoor Gym Equipment will be re-sited next to the Basketball/Skate Park area.
