Please be aware, due to National Grid works outside the recreation ground gates there will be no vehicle access on Saturday 1st August 2026. It is planned for the vehicle access to be re-opened by Sunday morning (2nd August).

Car Park Closure Reminder

Next week, from Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July 2026, there will be no vehicle access or car parking available at the Leicester Road Recreation Ground due to drainage works for the new sports centre.

The park will still be open, with access available at the pedestrian walkway on Leicester Road, about 100 meters from the vehicle drive (going away from the village).

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your ongoing support

🪏New Sports Centre Update🪏

Work is progressing well on the sports centre, with the steel frame now in place showing the full scale of the new building. Work has started on the roofing and this week we are seeing the concrete pour take place for the flooring.

On the week commencing Monday 13th July, the car park will unfortunately be closed due to the drainage work taking place, so all access to the park will be via the pedestrian walkway on Leicester Road. The closure is planned between Monday and Friday, and any further closure will be communicated.

The new sports centre will include;

- Large sports hall, available for a wide range of sports including Table Tennis, Basketball and Badminton

- Multi- Use Function Rooms

- Meeting Room

🏏New Season at Fleckney Village Cricket Club!🏏

Fleckney Village Cricket Club are ready for the new season, with opportunities for juniors from 4 years old up to Under 17 Cricket (as well as adult men's hardball and women's softball sides).

Sports Centre re-development update 🪏🪏

Demolition of the old sport hall is now complete, with the ground being cleared and levelled out prior to footings going in.

Thank you to everyone for using the temporary walkways and using the car park considerately. Water has now been cut off to the remaining part of the pavilion, so we can no longer offer toilet use inside the building. Porta-loos are available to use in the car park.
