🌟 Supporting Safer, More Inclusive Sport 🌟

Our BDA Safeguarding Manager was delighted to attend the North East Sport Welfare Event 2026 at St James' Park on Saturday, hosted jointly by Tees Valley Sport and Rise North East Active Partnerships.

The event featured insightful and thought-provoking presentations from keynote speakers Amjid Khazir and Clarke Carlisle, highlighting the importance of creating safer, more inclusive sporting environments. Sessions also explored mental health challenges in sport and the impact of gambling-related harm on participants and communities.

The afternoon showcased the excellent work being delivered by Sport Welfare Officers across the region, followed by a range of informative breakout sessions covering:

✅ Child Exploitation in Sport
✅ Online Harms and AI
✅ Safeguarding Adults in Sport
✅ Neurodiversity and Inclusion in Sport

The day provided valuable learning opportunities, practical guidance, and the chance to share best practice with colleagues from across the sporting sector.
