Hello thought I would do a lengthy post saying Hi as it’s been a minute!!! And I also wanted to post another photo in my wedding dress 🤣…
Im sam and I have been a fitness instructor and personal trainer for 7 years now and I absolutely love my job!
Before that I was a professional dancer and have been training and dancing since I was 3 years old and have always loved to move and never sat still … I have always been quite aware of my body image and trying to fit in from a young age especially within the dance industry as I felt I didn’t really have that ‘dancer body’ so I ended up suffering with disordered eating as a teenager and using exercise as a punishment and always trying to lose weight rather than doing it to enjoy it and be healthy and strong….
I’ve had a long journey with trying to be happy in myself and still struggle a lot with my body image some days and feeling like an imposter within the fitness industry but when I look back on all of the people I have helped in some way over the 7 years and when I see you all turn up to my classes and sessions week in week out that all disappears
SLC fitness started for me as I was going through a really rough time after flying back from Australia to come home and be with my mum who had terminal brain cancer and I started running fitness classes as a way to help my brain switch off for an hour every evening, and sweat it out with a fabulous group of people and I always felt amazing after no matter what was going on at home and it’s here I found my love for wanting to create a safe, fun supportive environment for people to work out in…
I’ve gone on to find my passion in helping new mums return safely to exercise and giving them a space that’s for them to feel like themselves for an hour a day and get their workouts in without having to worry about childcare
As well as personal training and teaching all my evening classes I’ve found something I’m good at and love even though I doubt myself every day if I’m doing a good enough job hahah but here I am in all my eratic glory still going strong 7 years on and forever grateful for every one of you that books a class or a session with me ❤️❤️❤️
