CROSSED CUFFED BENCH LATERAL RAISE 🔥
A smarter way to hit your side delts with constant tension, and without swinging the weights.
This variation locks your body in position and keeps the delts loaded from start to finish.
If you struggle to feel your shoulders working on dumbbell raises, give this a go.
SETUP:
✅ Use two low pulleys — cables crossed over in front of you. (Mine are setup at position 12)
✅ Attach cuffs just above each wrist.
✅ Sit back on a slight incline bench so your torso is stable and shoulders are slightly behind the cables.
✅ Start with hands in front of your hips and arms slightly bent.
CUING:
💡 Lead the movement with your elbows, not your hands.
💡 Raise until arms are just below shoulder height — no higher.
💡 Keep your ribcage down and avoid swinging through your torso.
💡 Control both the lift and the return for full tension.
This setup reduces trap involvement and helps you truly isolate your medial delts.
Perfect as a finisher or mid-session isolation movement on shoulder or push day 💪

🌟 Client Spotlight: June 🌟
June has been putting in the work with me and is now thriving in the gym. Recently, she’s been rebuilding strength after a bicep injury and previous shoulder surgery, we’ve been focusing on movements like the bench press and single-arm seated rows on the days she also goes karate to challenge herself since retiring.
Along with suitable accessory work to make sure June is back stronger than before and top of the class with the nunchucks 🥋🥷
At 66 years young, she continues to overcome challenges, proving that age and past injuries don’t have to hold you back.
She’s also a proud grandmother, staying active and involved in her grandchildren’s lives, another reason she inspiring to me 💪✨

John started training with me in September 2023, determined to get in the best shape of his life for his wedding day.

When Sam started training with me in January 2024, he weighed 100.2kg and had a solid strength foundation from powerlifting. But he wasn’t happy with his physique or confidence. We worked on balancing his training, setting calorie and macro goals, and focusing on smarter recovery.
9 months later in September, Sam has lost 18.5kg! hitting 81.7kg!
But the transformation went beyond just weight loss. He went from battling back and shoulder pain to lifting pain-free again. We worked on every aspect of these movements with specific exercises - mobility/activation drills where needed. Along with coaching his ex*****on and form to make these areas bulletproof.
He saw his physique change, and felt more energised and confident day to day. Now, Sam feels great in his own skin. He’s even stronger, lifting more while maintaining lower body fat and now onto building more lean tissue.

This Summer marks 14 years of me becoming a qualified PT! 🤯
I’ve been a personal trainer since 2010, and motivating friends and family to be more active before I can remember. Yes I was that annoying hyperactive kid running around, riding my mountain bike further than my parents would know.
I joined a commercial gym in 2011 and I truly struggled. Teaching classes and approaching people on the gym floor was way out of my comfort zone. On top of that, working (cleaning) 15 hours per week just to cover my rent 😂 backwards economics at its finest.
With no responsibility and being fortunate enough to have family to support me, I carried on even when I wanted to quit. Being an optimistic bright-eyed 21 year old, I persevered and finally found my place in helping men and women feel confident and happy with their body image and physical health. 💪🏼🏋️♀️🏋️♂️

Time to shake things up! Got a brand new logo and colors to hit the grid! Keep your eyes peeled as I’ve been working on a lot behind the scenes which all my current clients are benefiting from.
I’m currently 6 months into course and it’s helping me develop my coaching skills and nutritional knowledge beyond. I’ve never been very academic but when I see it directly helping the people around me so much I’m determined to keep putting in the hours of lectures and reading.
