What a fantastic day for Glenfield United U8 Foxes at the Freddie Orton Memorial Tournament in Market Bosworth!

The boys were outstanding throughout the day, storming through the group stages with 5 wins and just 1 defeat. They carried that momentum into the knockout rounds, winning their semi-final to secure a place in the final.
After a brilliant effort, the Foxes narrowly lost the final 2-1, but finishing runners-up out of 12 teams is an achievement every player, coach and parent should be incredibly proud of. The team's attitude, determination and teamwork were on display all day and they represented Glenfield United superbly.

A special mention must go to Spencer, who was awarded the prestigious Freddie Orton Sportsmanship Trophy – a unique award with only one recipient per age group.
The award was thoroughly deserved. Through one-on-one with the goalkeeper and in a great position to score himself, Spencer instead chose to pass to a newer teammate who was yet to score for Glenfield, giving him the opportunity to net his first goal for the club. It was a selfless act that perfectly demonstrated what being a team player is all about.
Football is about much more than winning trophies, and Spencer's gesture embodied the values of teamwork, kindness and sportsmanship. We couldn't be prouder of him.

Under 14's
What a season!
Moved up into division 5 this season, after winning the league last season in division 8. The boys have battled and worked together as a team to finish 4th! So proud of every single one of them, they all had a part to play.

Big thank you to all the parents too for their continued support. Me and Lee couldn't do it without you.

Our U10s Hawks played in a tournament today and made the final without conceding a single goal 👏⚽

After a 0-0 draw in the final, we unfortunately lost 2-1 on penalties.

Finishing runners-up in the Champions League final was still a brilliant achievement, and the boys should be proud of themselves 🏆💙

A huge milestone reached today for our youngest striker Freddie at Glenfield United U8s as he hit an incredible 50 goals for the season ⚽🔥

To be the youngest in the squad, play an age up and reach this milestone is something really special. The future is bright for this young talent 💫⚽

Our first tournament we’ve ran for a few years and it was a brilliant day.

28 under 7 teams joined us at Gynsill Lane across the day to compete in The Kai Cup. Congratulations to all our teams who took part, we hope you all had a great day.

Today wouldn’t have been possible without a huge number of volunteers, so thank you to all of who spared your time to help make today a special day.

Thanks also to the groundsmen at Glenfield Parish Council who helped create 4 perfect pitches for the day. The ground looked great.

⚽️ UNDER 7s TOURNAMENT ⚽️

Hi everyone, we’re hosting an Under 7s football tournament on Sunday 26th April at Gynsill Lane, kicking off from 9am and running all day.

There’s loads happening throughout the day including hot food, drinks (including alcohol), bouncy castles, bubble football and a raffle—so it should be a great day for players and families alike.

We’d love as much support as possible, so please come down if you can and share this post with your teams 🙌

We’re also looking for a few volunteers who can spare a couple of hours to help out—any help would be massively appreciated.

🎟 Kids wristbands are £5 for unlimited access to the bouncy castles and activities.

🎁 If anyone is able to donate raffle prizes, that would be amazing!
