🏉 What an incredible journey! 🏉

Today marked the final game for our amazing Under-16s Girls Rugby team.
While the scoreboard didn't go our way today, we could not be more proud of the immense heart, grit, and effort the girls poured into every single minute on the pitch.

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to the incredible team behind the team:

To our Coaches (Vicky, Steven, and Paul): Thank you for your endless dedication, patience, and leadership. You haven’t just taught them rugby skills; you’ve built a confident, resilient, and inspiring group of young women.

To our Game Day Manager (Rachel): Thank you for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Your hard work makes game days possible!

To our Parents & Families: Thank you for being the ultimate support system. From the early morning lifts and braving the freezing weather to cheering the loudest on the sidelines—we appreciate you so much.

To our Players: Heads held high, girls! It has been a hard and difficult season at times, but you showed up every single week ready to give it your all. Watching you grow as players has been a true privilege. No matter how tough the matches got, you never gave up, fought until the final whistle, and showed incredible resilience.🏆

🏉 MATCH REPORT: UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE FROM THE U16s GIRLS! 🏉

Leigh Miners Rangers golds U16 Girls put on an absolute masterclass today, walking away with a massive 0-44 win against Blackbrook in their friendly match!

While the attack was firing on all cylinders to rack up 44 points, the defining story of the game was keeping that 0 on the scoreboard! 💪🏼

🔥Defence wins matches, and today showed exactly how hard these girls are working for each other. The squad is really coming together as a brilliant unit!🏆

TODAY'S AWARD WINNERS 🏆

🌟 Special Recognition: The U15s (Evie, Naomi, Ava, and Sophie) – Stepped up and absolutely smashed it!

🪓 Captain's Player: Louise – Grafted non-stop with a massive shift in defence.

🤝 Opposition's Player: Emily – Smashed it at 7 with brilliant controlled aggression.

📋 Coach's Player: Evie E – Incredible work rate and fantastic on the ball.

👥 Parents' Players: Heather & Jess – Pure class running with intent, and an unbelievable kicking display!

The U15s Stepping Up: A huge thank you to and the Under-15s—Evie, Naomi, Ava, and Sophie! They earned a well-deserved special recognition award today. They absolutely smashed it—aggressive in defence, hard-working in attack, and always willing to take that run. They are an absolute credit to their team!🖤

Team Unity:

The recent squad additions have well and truly embedded themselves as Miners girls now, proving to be the perfect additions to the team. Layla put in an immense shift all over the field. Evie and Louise just grafted non-stop—massive in defence and great on the ball!🔥

The Playmakers & Spine:

Ellie (9): A completely dependable and important part of the team at 9, even if she is hard on herself! She absolutely loves defence.

Emily (7): Smashed it today, bringing incredible controlled aggression to the line.

Heather: Just pure class on and off the ball. Her confidence and intent when running sets a fantastic standard that will boost everyone's game up a level.

Jess: Another big game, headlined by an exceptional kicking display... WOW! 🎯

Kaila (13): Continuing to go from strength to strength every week. 💪🏼

🚫 The Edge Defence:Ellie, Ebony, & Ru: The outside backs and edge defenders completely locked down the boundaries today. The trio ensured nobody could run around them today, and the try-line defence was absolutely on point. Everyone stood incredibly tall!

The hard work on the training field is paying off, girls!

What a phenomenal performance from our girls this Sunday! 🙌 They came away with a hard-earned victory in our friendly fixture against Blackbrook, showing incredible teamwork, skill, and grit from start to finish. 🏉💥

Every single player left everything on the pitch, and the team spirit was unmatched.🤝

Despite the tough 8-20 result on the pitch last night, the real winners were our incredible girls' teams who turned out in massive numbers to be the official flag bearers for the Battle of the Borough derby!Seeing so many of our girls representing the club together in front of a packed crowd at the Leigh Sports Village was an absolutely unbelievable sight.

Every single player wore the Leigh Miners Rangers badge with absolute pride, passion, and massive smiles! 🌟Scorelines come and go, but the memories made by this huge group standing side-by-side in the middle of a massive Super League derby will last a lifetime. With a turnout like that, the future of girls' rugby league in Leigh is looking bigger, stronger, and brighter than ever! 💎A huge thank you to Leigh Leopards foundation for giving our club this amazing opportunity, and to all the parents, coaches, and volunteers who looked after such a big group on the night
