Some recent action of our adult members investing in their long-term health and training hard in our small group customised sessions 🙌🏻
1. Owen and Tracey with some 1 leg kick back wall ball slams. Helping combat the decline in muscle power that occurs as we age, which research shows is a key predictor in the risk of falling. Added bonus is this particular light power exercise works on balance too.
2. Philippa and Alex Alex Sofield doing Barbell Floor press with controlled technique
3. Allison Allison Grainey and Kirsty Kirsty Clark pushing some landmine half kneeling 1 arm presses
4. Vicky Vicky Threlfall and Allison building stronger hips with band resisted supine hip flexion pulls with holds
All getting in for 2 to 3 well structured sessions a week which meets the UK physical activity guidelines which recommends adults perform muscle-strengthening activity involving the major muscle groups on at least 2 days each week* 💪🏻🙌🏻
Which is one reason we believe 2–3 well-structured sessions per week can be such an effective approach and our 15 years of doing this has provided plenty of evidence to back this up.
It’s not about doing as much training as possible.
It’s about doing enough of the right training — consistently.
Do you want to benefit from coached structured progressive resistance sessions and combat the physical qualities that decline as we age which effects what we can do as we go through life and general health?
Then get in touch to find out more. Take advantage of our September 50% off offer for 4 weeks to help you get back into a routine after a busy summer.

Consistency Wins! 💙💚
A big shoutout to our members who completed 10+ Stronger For Life sessions during August 👏
You don’t need to train 5 or 6 days a week to make progress.
For most adults, 2–3 well-structured sessions per week which include joint mobility work , power/reactivity exercises, progressive resistance/strength training can make a meaningful difference — especially when you keep showing up consistently month after month.
That’s what this list represents.
Not extreme training.
Not trying to do as much as possible.
Just good training, done consistently.
Every session is another investment in your strength, health and physical capability — both now and for the years ahead.
Well done everyone! 💪💙💚
TRAIN FOR LIFE.

Why does our Stronger For Life Small Group sessions have different stages?
Because as we get older, we gradually lose muscle, strength, power/reactivity, mobility, balance and cardiovascular fitness, if we don’t continue to challenge them. All impacting how we function and our health ☹️
That’s why our sessions are built around combating this, along with not simply trying to make you as tired as possible.
Each stage has a purpose.
We prepare the body with rolling, mobility, stretching and activation.
We include power, balance and reaction work to help maintain qualities that can decline as we age.
We use progressive resistance training to build and maintain muscle and strength.
We train the core to improve stability and control.
And we finish with sensible conditioning to develop cardiovascular fitness and work capacity.
It can mean a session contains several different elements of training — but that’s deliberate, not random.
We’re not coaching for the feeling of today’s workout.
We’re training the physical qualities that can help you remain strong, mobile, fit and capable for the decades ahead.
Different stages. One bigger goal.
TRAIN FOR LIFE. 🙌🏻

10 years of Training For Life. 💙💚
Before joining WST, Alex was doing circuit-style exercise classes.
After starting with us, she discovered that 3 well-structured, resistance-focused sessions a week with exercises done under control rather than as fast as possible, could make a real difference — without needing to beat her body up in the process.
Almost 10 years later, she’s still with us investing in her long-term health 🙌🏻💪🏻
For us, that’s what good training should do.
Help you get stronger, work around injuries, support your physical and mental wellbeing, and most importantly — be something you can keep doing for years, in fact decades that positively impacts what you can do as we go through life 💪🏻
We don’t just train for today’s workout.
We train for tomorrow’s life.
Thank you for the brilliant review, Alex. 💙
