⚽ NEW SEASON. WINNING START FOR TROOPERS. 🧡🖤

Leigh United Troopers kicked off the new season with a hard-fought 3–2 win away at Hindley Town Vikings.

Hindley struck first, but the Troopers responded brilliantly. Oscar levelled from distance after good work from Archie, before Tom put us ahead with a superb individual goal — driving past the right-back and calmly finishing into the far corner.

Hindley made it 2–2 early in the second half, but Jack was outstanding in goal, making six saves including a couple of huge one-on-ones.

At the other end, Elsa threatened with powerful shots and dangerous corners, Reuben and Charlie worked brilliantly out wide, while Harley gave us real control in midfield. Oliver, Evie and Zac were excellent at the back, making a number of vital tackles and interventions.

Then, on 52 minutes, Tommy drove at the Hindley defence and found the finish to put us 3–2 ahead.

The Troopers dug in through the closing stages and held on for a fantastic opening-day victory.

⚽️ New season underway for Leigh United Dynamite U8s! 🧡🖤

Dynamite travelled to Atherton Town Asteroids for their opening game of the new season and faced a very strong start from the hosts.

The team knuckled down, worked incredibly hard for one another and grew into the game, producing a really strong final 10 minutes. There was plenty of determination, teamwork and resilience on show — a great way to build confidence so early in the season.

👏 Reuben was GOAT of the Match after an energetic performance full of effort and some excellent tackling.

⚡️ Great first game back for the Bolts vs Cherrybrook Rangers

A brilliant first game back today! The boys defended really well and showed their usual strength, determination and togetherness. 💪

Our goalkeeper made some excellent saves, while the defence put in a strong display to keep the opposition at bay. 🧤👏

We scored first when a lovely piece of play created space on the left, followed by a well-taken finish! ⚽️🔥 The boys fought hard for the goal and celebrated it together — great to see that team spirit!

We controlled the game well for most of the match, but a little lapse in concentration in the final six minutes allowed the opposition back into it.

We pushed for another goal right until the end, but unfortunately couldn’t get it over the line.

There were some lovely moments of skill, passing and teamwork throughout the game, with plenty of positive contributions across the team. 👏

A really positive performance from the boys, with lots to be proud of. Well done, Bolts! ⚡️🧡

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our football presentation. It was fantastic to see so many players, parents, families, friends and supporters there to celebrate what has been a brilliant season for the team. Days like these are a great chance to look back on all the hard work, commitment, teamwork and progress the players have shown throughout the year, both in training and on match days.

We are incredibly proud of every player for the effort, determination and attitude they have shown all season. Watching their confidence grow, friendships develop and love for the game continue to shine has been amazing to see. Thank you also to all the parents and families for your continued support week in, week out — from early starts and travelling to matches, to encouraging the players from the sidelines. Your support plays a huge part in everything the team achieves.

A special thank you also goes to our coaches, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes who give up their time to help the team and make days like this possible. Finally, a massive thank you to all of our sponsors for your generous support throughout the season. Your contribution helps provide opportunities, equipment and experiences for the players, and it is hugely appreciated by everyone involved with the club.

What a fantastic way to round off the season for Leigh United U9 Lightning! ⚡️
Today was all about taking a break from football, spending time together, and making memories as a team at Manley Mere.
The day kicked off on the Aqua Park, where every player threw themselves into the challenge. There were plenty of laughs, a few wobbles, and lots of determination as the boys pushed themselves outside their comfort zones when things got a little scary. Not even the chilly water temperature could put them off!
After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic kindly put together by the parents – a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.
We then finished the afternoon on the Adventure Trail, where the fun continued with more challenges, teamwork, and plenty of smiles along the way.
It was great to see every player fully involved, encouraging each other and enjoying each other's company away from the football pitch. Days like this help build friendships and team spirit that will last long beyond the season.
A brilliant day from start to finish and the perfect way to celebrate another fantastic season together. Now we look forward to Presentation Day next week! ⚽️🏆🧡🖤

⚡🧡🖤 Quarter-Final Match Report 🧡🖤⚡
A closely contested quarter-final today, with the boys showing tremendous character, determination and teamwork throughout.
We took the lead twice, but credit to our opponents who responded well on both occasions to bring themselves back into the game. There was almost a dramatic winner in the final minute, but an excellent save from the opposition goalkeeper kept the scores level and sent the tie to penalties.
In the shootout, the lads held their nerve brilliantly, showing great composure under pressure to secure the victory and book their place in next week's semi-final.
The standout feature of today's performance was the teamwork. Every player contributed, defending from the front and supporting each other all over the pitch. The commitment, effort and togetherness shown from first whistle to last were outstanding.
Player of the Match goes to one of our defenders, who was calm and composed throughout, making a number of crucial tackles and leading by example when it mattered most.
A big thank you to our opponents for a competitive game played in great spirit, and to all the supporters for their fantastic backing.
