A year in, and Tight Lines is still evolving
One thing I’ve learned in our first year is that running a small independent tackle shop isn’t about trying to stock absolutely everything.
We don’t have the floor space of the big tackle chains, so every peg and every shelf has to work.
That means learning what local anglers actually use, keeping the essentials available, trying new products, dropping things that don’t work, and gradually building a range that suits the fishing around Leighton Buzzard.
We haven’t got everything right yet.
Sometimes something sells quicker than expected. Sometimes a product I think will fly barely moves. And sometimes a customer asks for something that makes me wonder why I wasn’t stocking it already.
But the shop today is a very different shop from the one that opened a year ago, and year two will keep moving in that direction.
I’d much rather build Tight Lines around what you actually want to buy than fill the walls with products just for the sake of making the shop look full.
So forget the survey for a moment and answer me this:
What is the ONE thing you think Tight Lines should never be out of?
