💚🖤 WHAT A DAY FOR THE GREEN ARMY! 🖤💚

A fantastic final round of the Micro League Northwest in Blackpool, with both of our teams giving absolutely everything for the club! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

🏆 A TEAM – ROUND 3 WINNERS & OVERALL LEAGUE WINNERS!
Our A Team made it THREE WINS FROM THREE ROUNDS, finishing top of the league with an incredible 902 points!

That fantastic achievement means the team has now qualified for the National Inter-League Final in Corby this November! 🇬🇧🔥

💚 B TEAM – JOB DONE!
Another determined performance from our B Team, finishing 6th overall with 598 points and, importantly, retaining their place in the division for next season! 👏

We couldn’t be prouder of both teams. Every swimmer who has represented Leyland throughout the three rounds has played their part — every swim, every point and every bit of support has contributed to what we’ve achieved.

A massive THANK YOU to our coaches, team managers, chaperones, officials, volunteers, parents and families for everything you’ve done throughout the Micro League season. 💚

Congratulations as well to all the other clubs and teams we’ve raced against. It’s been another brilliant Micro League campaign, and we look forward to seeing you all again! 🤝

💚🦈 MICROLEAGUE NORTHWEST – ROUND 3 🦈💚

GOOD LUCK GREEN ARMY!

The wait is over… it’s time for the third and final round of the 2026 Microleague Northwest season!

This Saturday we head to Palatine Leisure Centre, Blackpool for what promises to be an exciting afternoon of racing as both our A Team and B Team take to the pool representing Leyland Barracudas.

🟢 B TEAM – Division B

📍 Arrive: 11:45am
🏊 Warm Up: 12:15pm

Our B Team goes into the final round sitting 6th overall on 392 points. There’s very little separating the teams ahead, so every race, every point and every finish will make a difference.

🟢 A TEAM – Division A

📍 Arrive: 2:45pm
🏊 Warm Up: 3:15pm

Our A Team heads into Round 3 in a fantastic position… TOP OF DIVISION A on 610 points! 👏

It’s all to race for as we look to finish an incredible Microleague campaign in style.

💚 Let’s do what the Green Army does best…

🏆💚 HOUSE GALA 2026 — WHAT A DAY! 💚🏆

What an absolutely AMAZING day for the Green Army! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️💦

From our Academy swimmers right through to our Masters — and even our coaches getting in on the racing — today was everything a House Gala should be: loud, competitive, exciting and, most importantly, great fun! 🙌

The battle for the trophy was close, with every house giving it absolutely everything. The noise and support around the pool were incredible! 📣🔥

To every single swimmer who raced today — you were INCREDIBLE! 💚 Whether you were racing for points, chasing a PB, trying something new or simply enjoying being part of your team, you all played your part in making today so special.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the gala, and a special shout-out to our House Team Managers and Chaperones for looking after and supporting our swimmers throughout the day. 👏💚

The summer break is over and tomorrow we officially kick off the new season! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

We hope all our swimmers, coaches and families have had a fantastic and well-deserved break. Now it’s time to get back on poolside, see our teammates again and start working towards another exciting season ahead.

From tomorrow, our full programme returns for ALL squads — and we can’t wait to see everyone back in the water! 💪

A new season means new goals, new challenges and new opportunities. Bring the energy, bring the commitment and most importantly… enjoy being back doing what you love! 💚

After an incredible season last year, we’re excited to see what this one has in store.

💚🏊 CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SELECTION! 🏊💚

A massive congratulations to Neve, Thomas and Darcy, who have all been selected for the Swim England North West Regional Development Programme 2026/27! 👏🌟

This is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant recognition of the hard work, commitment and dedication all three continue to show in their swimming.

The programme will see them attend two Regional Development Camps at Wigan Life Centre, working alongside other talented swimmers from across the North West:

📅 Camp 1: Sunday 15th November 2026
📅 Camp 2: Sunday 16th May 2027

We are incredibly proud to have three Green Army swimmers selected for the programme and representing Leyland Barracudas. 💚

Enjoy the experience, take every opportunity to learn and keep doing what you’re doing!

GCSEs take a huge amount of hard work, commitment and dedication — and balancing your studies alongside hours of training and competitions makes that achievement even more impressive. 🏊‍♂️📚

Whatever is inside that envelope or on that screen this morning, be proud of the work you have put in and everything you have achieved along the way.

💚🏆 REGIONAL AWARDS 2026 – FINAL SHORTLISTS! 🏆💚

We are incredibly proud to see Leyland Barracudas SC and Jessica Holding named on the final shortlists for the Swim England North West Regional Awards 2026! 👏

🏆 Leyland Barracudas SC – Club of the Year
🌟 Jessica Holding – Young Volunteer of the Year

To reach the final shortlist is a fantastic achievement in itself and something everyone connected with the Green Army can be extremely proud of. 💚

A huge thank you to Swim England North West for the recognition and for selecting both the club and Jess amongst this year’s finalists. It means a great deal to everyone involved with Leyland Barracudas.

The awards evening takes place on Saturday 3rd October at Leigh Sports Village, and we’ll be keeping everything crossed! 🤞🏆

We would also like to wish every nominee across all of this year’s award categories the very best of luck. Being shortlisted is a brilliant recognition of the hard work, commitment and dedication that goes into aquatics across the North West. 👏

A HUGE congratulations to our very own Pam Lane, who has had a fantastic time competing at the British Transplant Games 2026 in Sheffield — coming home with an incredible FOUR MEDALS! 👏👏
