After 20+ years of competing on modern machines, I've taken the plunge & got myself a classic to have a go on.

Bit of a fettling day today! Started by looking at the leak on the kickstart shaft & found that it requires the gearbox cover off to replace a cork seal (thanks to Norton single cylinder motorcycles FB page)That'll wait till the off season. It's only a slight dribble & I have plenty of rags🤷‍♂️
Fitted a modern throttle twist grip along with new cable, as the original was slightly worn😳 May upset the purists but it works & matches the new 30mm modern carb.
Sorted the oil leak on the rocker cover by putting an original cork gasket on to replace the tube of liquid gasket that had been applied previously🙄
Changed engine oil, checked gearbox oil level.
New crush washer in exhaust header & lifted the silencer to hopefully stop it grinding out😳
Hopefully I'll get a few road miles in before my next competition outing at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, for the Bike Bonanza on Saturday 4th July! I'll be running the Tuono V4 1100 too. We'll also be having a couple of cold ones on the Friday night with our good mate Steve Atkins of Team Greeves fame😎🍻
The Bike Bonanza has nearly 100 bike/Morgan entries & features lots of interesting bike related entertainment on & off the track! Open to the public, food & beverages available😊

After a bit of fettling on arrival at Curborough Sprint Course, near Lichfield, it turned into a cracking weekend👍
Fitted a 10ah battery, lifted the carb needle & adjusted up the primary & drive chains, whilst waiting for the car track day to finish so we could get set up in the paddock.
A grand evening of drinking & socialising, after helping set up the course. Big thanks to Steve Atkins for his hard work with the timing set up🤙
The little bike ran well all weekend but still needs a bit of adjustment, a work in progress😊 The suspension wallows somewhat but after adding another 100ml of oil to each leg it calmed down, a little😳
Not sure where I finished in the open class or overall but it looks like I'm in 2nd place in the NHCA Classic Championship👍
I thoroughly enjoyed riding the Norton & I'm starting to form a love/hate relationship with it😬 Not sure when my next outing will be but I'll certainly be out on it again shortly!
Big thanks to the NHCA for putting on an amazing 2 day meeting, especially the timing girls cooped up in the hut & the marshals out in the blazing sun🥵

Interesting day! The Norton ran lively with the bigger, 10ah, battery! Very interesting with the bouncy suspension but what a buzz😃 I enjoyed my time on the Norton more than on the V4 Tuono. The Tuono has decided to throw a wobbly so I'll be on a borrowed bike tomorrow in the 1400cc class but I'll still be stretching the Norton's legs!

Team Greeves's Steve Atkins tries the Norton ES2 for size, Curborough Sprint Course! Can we persuade him that 4 strokes are the way forward 🤔

Curborough Sprint Course this weekend. Running the ES2 AND the Tuono V4! Hopefully we can sort the running issues on the Norton. The consensus is electrical🤷‍♂️

My first outing on the ES2. Unfortunately we still haven't solved the running issues but that's the joy of Brit bike ownership, so I'm told🤷‍♂️
