As a member of the for Lung Health, ARTP supports the call for government to commit to the development and implementation of a respiratory Modern Service Framework (MSF).
Respiratory conditions affect around one in six people in England and are the third[LB5.1] leading cause of death, yet we still lack a co-ordinated, system-wide approach to tackle this.
A respiratory Modern Service Framework (MSF) is our opportunity to change that. The Taskforce for Lung Health’s new report outlines the need and impact of a respiratory MSF. Read the full report here www.taskforceforlunghealth.org.uk/breathing-life-into-the-nhs-improving-outcomes-reducing-inequalities-and-enabling-innovation-through-a-respiratory-modern-service-framework/.
The evidence already exists, and so does the consensus. Patients, carers, clinicians, researchers, charities, professional bodies and industry are united behind the need for a respiratory MSF. A respiratory MSF would raise the bar for lung health, close widening inequalities, and spread proven, scalable, ready-to-implement solutions.
