Restorative Aerial yoga is the perfect way to reset and relax. We use the hammock to support us in deep stretches allowing muscles and fascia to release. The hammock holds your body in your own private cocoon, their gentle rocking motion helps us regulate and calm our nervous system. There is something really primal about being held and rocked. After the workshop you'll feel a deep sense of relaxation, like you're floating on air.

Have you ever wondered why your Reformer Pilates class can feel like such a mental challenge?
It's because it challenges our human programming.
We are programmed to stay grounded and stay safe. When we use the Reformer we are taking ourselves away from the ground and therefore going against our natural programming. To do the class we need to quieten the part of our brain that tells us we aren't "safe"
Linked to this is the way in which using the Reformer creates instability, the movement of the carriage doesn't just compromise our balance, it challenges our brain too. Our brain has to compute the demand of the exercise but it also has to process the feeling of the carriage moving, particularly when the carriage moves in the opposite direction to the exercise.
The benefits of the mental challenge of class is that challenging our brain stimulates new neural pathways. It gives us a little boost of adrenaline as well as endorphins, giving you that post class buzz. And because we are challenged mentally as well as physically in class it keeps us present in the moment.
So next time you're in a Reformer class, remember you are working your brain as well as your body!

Join me online for a 4 week Face yoga course. Where we'll boost our complexion & mood. The classes will start on Wednesday 4th February at 8pm (each class lasts approximately 50 minutes)🥰
In winter our skin can feel dryer and more sensitive, Face yoga can help by boosting the blood flow to the face, collagen and elastin production is naturally increased, improving skins overall health and appearance, giving your complexion a natural glow. It can also release tension in the jaw, neck & and head and it's a lovely way to find a little bit of time for yourself. The course is £35 for the 4 weeks & will be delivered via zoom.
