Over the coming weeks, we'll be shining the spotlight on each of our Birchwood Colts U8's players, helping everyone get to know the amazing young people behind the football shirts. ⚽🖤💛

This series is about much more than football. It's an opportunity to celebrate each player's unique personality, interests and character, helping them build confidence and feel proud to be part of the Birchwood Colts family.

We hope it creates lasting memories for players, families and friends to look back on in years to come and gives our supporters and sponsors the chance to get to know the fantastic children they help support every season.

Every player has their own story to tell and their own strengths to be proud of. Whether it's their determination on the pitch, their kindness to teammates or the smile they bring to training, these are the moments worth celebrating.

We're incredibly proud of everything that Cooper brings to the team and can't wait for everyone to learn a little more about him!

🏆⚽ TRAINER OF THE WEEK ⚽🏆

A huge congratulations to Cody, who was crowned this week's Trainer of the Week by Coach Scott! 👏💛🖤

Cody earned this award after an outstanding first training session, showing fantastic tackling, great skill on the ball, and plenty of determination throughout.

To top it all off, he capped off the evening with a last-minute belter of a goal that left everyone impressed! 🚀⚽

It's brilliant to see such a strong start, Cody. Keep up the fantastic work and keep enjoying football!

⚽ Another fantastic training session for the Birchwood Colts U8s this evening! ⚽

The lads were brilliant from start to finish, listening carefully to Coach Scott throughout the session and giving maximum effort in every drill and game.

Having the extra space on the 4G pitch really allowed the players to stretch out and express themselves, and they certainly made the most of it! It was great to see some of the boys showing skills, confidence and creativity that we haven't seen before. Their development continues to impress us week after week.
A special welcome to our new additions to the team. We're delighted to have you with us and it's been fantastic to see how quickly you've settled in. The boys have made you feel welcome and everyone already seems to be fitting in perfectly.

Well done, lads – keep working hard, keep enjoying your football, and keep believing in yourselves. We're excited to see what comes next! 💛🖤⚽

To help support our Birchwood Colts Under 8's, we're launching a FIFA World Cup 2026 Sweepstake for parents, family and friends!
💰 Entry Cost: £5 per number
🏆 Prize Fund: £100 to the person holding the winning World Cup team
⚽ Team Fund: The remaining £140 will go directly towards supporting the team with equipment, tournament entries, training resources and much more.

How it works:
🔢 Choose a number between 1 and 48, being the total number of teams competing in the FIFA World Cup 2026 - the biggest one yet!! 👏

🎲 Once all numbers have been sold, each World Cup team will be have been assigned to a number. We will then go live and using a random number generator assign each players number to the corresponding team number!

🏆 If your assigned team wins the FIFA World Cup, you win £100!
This is a great way to add some extra excitement to the tournament while helping support the development of our young footballers.

What a day for Birchwood Colts U7s! 💙💛⚽

Today marked our very first tournament together as a team, and we couldn't be prouder of every single one of the lads.

With less than five hours of training together, several new players joining the squad, some boys playing their very first matches, and others battling through feeling under the weather, there were plenty of reasons to find things difficult. Instead, they chose courage, determination, and teamwork.

From the first whistle to the last, the boys showed heart, belief, and a willingness to work for each other. You'd never have guessed this team had only just come together. They supported one another, kept their heads up, and gave everything they had.

Today wasn't about results—it was about building foundations, gaining experience, and taking our first steps as a team. Every one of these lads will find and own their place within this squad, and we're excited to see what the next year brings.
