A little look back at how Lincoln Lifting has changed over the years.
A few different spaces, a lot more kit and plenty of graft along the way.

GYM 1 - 2022-2023
Before Lincoln Lifting, there was JF Strength & Performance, a 450 sq ft S&C studio.
I started it with the idea of offering strength and conditioning alongside powerlifting, but quickly realised the space was too small to do everything. We niched down and turned it into a dedicated powerlifting gym with three comp racks and a matted area for deadlifts and accessories.
Everything had to be stored on the walls to save room, even the benches.
By the end, people were waiting up to 45 minutes for a comp rack, so it was definitely time to move.
GYM 2 - 2023-2024
The start of Lincoln Lifting properly.
This gym was 900 sq ft and the first space to carry the Lincoln Lifting name. It gave us room for weightlifting, dedicated deadlift spaces and a separate accessory area.
We also managed to run our first powerlifting competition here - a North Midlands Quiet Series event.
The uneven floor was a constant battle that we couldn’t fix. Eventually, the landlord allowed us to leave early, which led us to Gym 3.
GYM 3 - 2024
The first setup at our current facility on Crofton Close.
At 2,800 sq ft, it was more than three times the size of Gym 2. It allowed us to add more deadlift platforms, more machines and finally, a bit more space to move around.
This layout didn’t last long, though. The cameras kept getting in the way, and the arrival of our Eleiko rack meant everything needed moving around again.
GYM 3 - 2025
This was the setup after running our first competition at Gym 3.
We built a partition to separate the competition room from the warm-up room, which worked really well - until we decided to add a lot more machines and somehow made the gym feel crowded again.
One of the biggest highlights of the year was managing to run five powerlifting competitions in total.
GYM 3 - 2026
The biggest change to the facility so far - and definitely the hardest upgrade yet.
We’ve added a 132 m² mezzanine for our weight-training machines, allowing us to keep the ground floor focu
