NEWS REGARDING MR MIKE SAVAGE.

It is with great sadness and regret that we have to inform our member clubs today of the passing of our Chair, Mike Savage.

Mike was suffering with cancer in his last weeks and months and passed away at 3am this morning.

His influence on the game of cricket in our county was immeasurable, over many years supporting the recreational game to thrive.

His unmatched passion for the game led to increased participation of older people through the Lincolnshire Seniors set-up and his legacy on cricket in Lincolnshire will stay strong.

It is the Lincoln & District League committee’s strong recommendation that all matches this Sunday do not start without a minute’s silence for Mike and teams and officials are encouraged to wear black armbands.
