The U11’s hosted Birchwood Colts today in the trophy Cup. The team played some really good football today and were much improved from the previous game. But Birchwood were just too strong for us and put their chances away. The score line didn’t reflect the performance and team knew that at the end.
Player of the match went to Jamie for his great battling and marshalling of the defence. Was also unlucky to not get on the scoresheet with an audacious strike from the half way line 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A special mention also to our team sponsor A Hughes & Son for suppling us with a new subs bench! Hi Craig,

It was a tough morning on the road for our U9s today as they travelled to Wyberton for a cold and wet morning match.

It wasn't their best day at the office, as the boys came up against a very physically strong Wyberton side and struggled at times to cope with their power. However, the team battled incredibly well from start to finish. Playing in tough conditions against physical opposition like today will only help strengthen their character and work ethic moving forward!

A massive shoutout to Harrison, who picked up Player of the Match today after bagging two fantastic goals! Great work
Well done to all the boys for digging deep in the rain. The team will dust ourselves down and move on to the next one.

Today our U9 Reds found themselves at Bracebridge Heath for a match agaisnt Sincil Bank Utd.
It was a difficult adjustment for the boys today playing on a small uneven pitch. We learnt some tough lessons on the importance of defending and staying in position, certainly something we will take away to training.
Player of the Match was Oakley for determination to keep attacking.
Jackson was Supporters Player for an enthusiastic display which resulted in him adding to his goal tally.
Goal scorers today were Oakley and Jackson. ⚽️⚽️
Special thanks also to our training kit sponsor for popping down to watch and bringing a special guest to watch and meet the boys. We truly appreciate it

Our U8s hosted Hykeham Tigers today, the game was a very physical battle, with tigers utilising the wind and making it a very tough first 20 minutes.

Thankfully our boys are made of strong stuff battling through the storm to come out the other side... A cameo from our very own maxwelldinho on the left side driving past the whole team looping back and going round them again finishing it with an assist

Reggie battled and battled despite taking a crunching knock Kai likewise battled on and got some important goals

Tom was a constant threat in attack as ever and pounced on a deflected free kick to finish well

Bernie was solid in goal despite facing a long ball over the top all game

Freddie was solid as a rock and used his size and strength really well against some strong attackers unfortunately his morning was cut short along with Rowans through injury

Player of the match however went to Archie... Who not only chipped in with the bulk of the goals... He moved into defence to help us sure up the game late on, his attitude again was absolutely perfect and thoroughly deserved his player of the match today

Last weekend our U10s took on Louth Reds in their final cup game of the group.

The team knew they were in for a tough game with Louth being from the A league but they totally stood up to the challenge.

St Helens started strongly and even took an early lead through Travis and they kept Louth at bay with a strong defensive performance.

Louth soon showed their quality and got back in the game but the boys didn’t let their heads drop and fought continuously. Louth won a penalty but Stanley pulled off a sensational triple save to keep us in the game.

Bertie won and converted a penalty to make a tense finish but the victory wasn’t meant to be.

Right from the first whistle to the last the team gave absolutely everything to this game and each other - this performance showed their resilience and the progress the team have made to be able to compete with a team from the league above.

Stanley was our player of the week for not only his triple save from the penalty but also other brilliant saves at key times of the game and his encouragement and leadership throughout. Well done Stanley and all the boys. ❤️🖤

Our U8s today played in the Cup against a really strong HBW United Tornadoes team

The game was played in a fantastic manner by both teams, a really strong physical game that could of gone either way

Our Player of the Match went to Max, who worked his socks off, showed of his brilliant footwork all game and despite being the smallest player on the pitch, picked out the biggest player on the opposition and used all his strength to get the better of him on numerous occasions... This is something we've been working on as a group in training and it’s clearly paying off.

A special mention goes to Mr Mcordick who made his refereeing debut today... Did a cracking job despite forgetting he has a whistle.... Cheers ref

Today our U9 Reds played against a talented Welton Football Club team.
Despite the challenge the Reds gave it their all and didnt let their heads drop.
Player of the Match today went to Harry. He showed he is becoming a real force to be reckoned with, defending and passing the ball forward in equal measure.
Supporters Player was Elliott, who came on and immediately switched on to show what he can do when hes giving it his all.
The attitude from the boys was great today, representing St Helens in just the way we want.

What a fantastic morning of football for our U9s in their final 1st Round Cup tie away against Saxilby Tigers. With both teams already safely through to the next round, today was all about competing for that coveted top spot in the group!
It was a brilliant game from start to finish, played in excellent spirits on a lovely pitch. After a competitive opening, our boys really grew into the match and started passing the ball beautifully.
We faced some heavy pressure and needed to show more intensity defending our own goal. It was incredibly pleasing to see the boys listen, adapt, and respond to tactical messages as the game progressed—holding strong to concede only a single goal today!
Harrison put us ahead by half-time with two absolutely great strikes, keeping us in front in a tight, end-to-end first half.
The boys saved their best for last, dominating the final quarter. That hard work was justly rewarded with two more fantastic goals from Otto and Jude, sealing the win and ensuring we finish top of the group
A massive thank you to everyone Saxilby Athletic FC for being such warm, welcoming hosts and providing a very competitive, enjoyable match.
A massive well done to our goalkeeper, Charlie who was voted Player of the Match. He was fearless today, showing incredible bravery in 1v1 situations and 50/50 challenges. Even better, he successfully applied something specific we have been working hard on in training straight into the match. Brilliant stuff, Charlie!
Onto the next round
