We wrapped up our first Skate School of 2026 yesterday - what a fantastic bunch of talented skaters!

2026 is just days away and our next taster session is approaching on Sunday 11th January from 12pm until 2pm.

We have contacted everyone on our waiting list but still have spaces available if you want to come give roller derby a try or just learn to skate and advance your skills!

We have had ups and downs from 2025 but we end on a high with our annual festive fun and games session after our AGM!

Now we have our Christmas break but from January 2026 we have Skate School restarting if you want to learn to skate and we also have a rolling recruitment for roller derby if you want to come and give this full contact sport a try! 🛼🛼

We proudly handed out certificates today as it was the final week of the current skate school! Congratulations to everyone who has skated with us since January, you've all come so far 🖤💙

We do have a waiting list for our next skate school but we don't have any start dates due to our spare kit being locked up at Yarborough. We are working on this but right now we have no information when we will be allowed to retrieve it.

We hope to invite more pupils to come and learn the love of 8 wheels very soon 🤞

In true LBRD style we (sort of) succeeded making a human pyramid to celebrate our first training session at Deans Sport and Leisure!

We are super excited about the future for the team even though we're still waiting on information as to when we can gain access to our spare kit and track equipment locked up at Yarborough Leisure Centre.

Sadly we can't recruit right now due to this, but we are lucky we can still train in such a lovely sports hall 🙏💪

While we have all been eating many many Easter eggs... One of our long time skaters and fabulously scary coaches Worried About Ray (aka Sergeant Ray) is currently training for a Marathon in May in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support!

Apparently is it more difficult than a two minute jam but we will leave that up to her to find out. Please donate via the link below to make the pain worth while!

We've had a little road trip today to Leicester to watch Leicestershire Dolly Rockit Rollers 5 nations home game!

Amazing Roller Derby from Nottingham Roller Derby against Coventry Roller Derby for the first game and now we are cheering for all in the second game - Leicester Dolly Rockit Rollers vs Stoke City Rollers!

The roller derby community has shown us great love in the last week and we have had lots of offers to train with other teams while we try and set ourselves back up in another hall 🫶
We hope we aren't waiting long to get training again🤞but in the mean time we can enjoy days like this supporting local teams!
