🔔 Important Announcement 🔔

Please read 👆 regarding the movement of athletes within training groups.

As one of the first clubs in the country to have achieved all 7 club standards in governance and compliance from our governing body, England Athletics, we are very passionate about the safety of our members, and their enjoyment in the sport we all love.

With many aspects of the club progressing and constant work behind the scenes, we'd like to ask that if you have any questions or queries regarding training groups, to direct these to Denise, our athlete coaching coordinator, who will happily support you in answering any questions.

Now, let's get ready for Northern XC Relays at Graves Park, Sheffield, tomorrow! 💪

Thank you,

LWAC.

ERRA National Road Relays took place at Sutton Park, Birmingham last weekend and LWAC were in full attendance. Another big shout-out to Gary Johnson for organising and managing the Relay events.

LWAC brought home a team medal and an individual medal this year, repeating similar feats to last year (more on that soon).

Our U14G stepped up to the national stage after a superb silver at Northern Athletics and again displayed a fine performance at a new level with 13th place. The boys took two teams and finished 14th and 35th respectively in strong fields, and included debut races for some new members.

The U16G took two teams and mirrored their Northern's success with the "A" team bringing home silver medals, and the "B" once more coming home as the fastest "B" team in the race. The U16B also took two teams, highlighting LWAC depth, finishing 42nd and 72nd, and again, included some new members making their competitive debuts.

Our U18W also took two teams and the "A" team finished 14th, despite being held back by an official long after the previous leg athlete had finished. The "B" team produced a fine 34th place finish. The U18M finished 30th having stormed into the Top 10 on the opening leg.

The senior women (being aged 17, 17, 17, & 18) once more produced a quality display, after having earned bronze at the Northern Relays two weeks ago. They finished 14th and showed consistent splits in a high-class senior women's field. The "B" team finished 52nd, having a blend of youth and experience proved a great success.

The senior men saw a 6-stage epic and the gruelling course never allowed any rhythm to flow. Again, in a stacked field, all athletes battled hard and competed well to finish 57th having qualified late from the Northern relay.

Thank you to all who took part, supported, spectated, travelled, cheered, organised, and more. These events don't happen without the club coming together as one!

115 years. One club. Countless stories. ❤️🤍🖤

On Saturday 19th September, Lincoln Wellington Athletic Club came together at Lincoln Guildhall (Stonebow) to celebrate 115 years of history.

From treasured archives and family memories to stories from past and present members, committee members, friends, and children alike - the day was a brilliant reminder that a club’s history isn’t just dates and results...it's the people who make it.

We had anecdotes from founder members' children, who brought prized keepsakes, to children and parents saying they visited to celebrate "not just a Tuesday and Thursday trip to the track, but a social history of this amazing club".

115 years of running, friendship, competition, community and memories - and still going. Welly - you're all amazing! The day was beyond humbling, and we hope you're as proud as we are, of being associated with Lincoln Wellington Athletic Club.

Here’s to the next chapter🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️enjoy a selection of photos from the day...

post and Nationals to follow...

What a few weeks it's been to kick off the autumn relays! .johnson2018 has worked tirelessly to organise teams, selections, the event operation itself, and everything that comes along with it. Firstly, a big "thank you" for all of your hard work. You may also have read his write up of this event too.

To recap: Welly took to the north east of England on an undulating course two weekends ago for the Northern Athletics Autumn Road Relays.

Our U14G (in their first year of the age group) stormed home to a silver medal with the boys producing a fine 14th place finish!

The U16G are moving through the age groups together (of which 2 have another year in it) and take yet another silver to add to their collections at these races. The "B" team placed 8th and first B team back home. The boys grafted to a superb 18th place finish.

There was no U18M so it was left to the women who produced a stunning 7th place and were never out of the top 9 throughout each leg!

The senior men battled hard to a 29th overall place (which included other B/C teams) and qualified for the Top 25 and booked their place at Nationals.

And the "Senior" women, made up of last year's U17W, stormed home to take a bronze medal. 3 of the quartet are still 17, and the other, just 18. This group are relentless in their pursuit of achievement and stepping up age categories mattered not.

Well done to all involved and we will share the National Road Relays results from yesterday very soon...
