New Trauma-Informed Weight Lifting course! 💜
Darkside Training is working to challenge harmful fitness narratives, welcoming all bodies and coaching with acceptance and authenticity. Shantelle is trained in both trauma-informed weight lifting and trauma-sensitive yoga through the Centre for Trauma and Embodiment, alongside 11 years as a strength coach.
This innovative five-week course is dedicated to offering new ways to connect with your body. Moving beyond physical goals and fitness narratives, we will focus on:
- Noticing sensations
- Mind-muscle connections
- Choice, autonomy, safety
- Basic weight lifting movements
These women-only sessions are welcoming of all bodies, neurotypes and fitness experiences. This course is semi-private, with a max of five women to hold space for personal connection and attentive coaching.

Postnatal Strength Training

These sessions are baby, toddler, and breastfeeding friendly—ideal if you want to start or resume training and need to bring your child.
Each participant follows a personalised strength and technique programme, with focus on core and pelvic floor health for new mums.
Strength training supports both physical and mental well-being. We offer a welcoming community of postnatal women.
The course runs for 4 weeks (one 90-minute session per week), introducing strength training safely. Maximum 4 participants for personal coaching; cost is £64 for the course with an option to continue.
Classes are led by Rachel, our Pre & Postnatal specialist coach.

Training costs 2026 💜
With business rates set to rise sharply in April, we’ve made a small adjustment to our pricing. This change will also help provide a pay increase for our coaches as we all navigate the pressures of the rising cost of living.
From 1st April (new clients) and 1st May (existing clients):
Semi-private group sessions will cost £16 per session
(charged as a 4-weekly direct debit of £64)
Additional weekly semi-private sessions will remain £12
1:1s will cost £42 per hour.
