Could not be more grateful that I'm still able to go out and work! We're the lucky ones.
Hope you're all staying healthy out there!
Ps. Isn't it nice to see no condensation trails left by planes??

A pair of lateral extensions made for a horse with slightly contracted outside heels behind.
This'll make sure that the ground forces are applied evenly to his joints, support his hoof capsule where the heel is contracted and encourage his hoof to grow more symmetrically!
I see this type of foot imbalance quite frequently on my round and have found that modifying a stock shoe (Mustad Libero) out of the box is a nice, simple but very effective way to help such horses continue to work to a high standard.

The first time a horse is shod can be a bit nerve wreaking. Usually it takes a lot of patience and twice as long as a normal set.
Lucky Merlin is a good boy and it went without a hitch. If only they all stood so well 😂

A trim for a retired Poppy!
Notice the groove in the toe?
A bacterial infection of the white line called seedy toe was present in a crack. Now the area is exposed to the air and disinfectant the bacteria will die off and its just a case of waiting for the hoof to regrow!
