For the first five years my lesson planning for two classes a week meant myself and Paula drilling the work with a stopwatch for several hours that week.

I still have all my notes from 26 years ago that I still write today, not as detailed, the process led me to the equivalent of shorthand these days.

Now, and for the last 30 years, every Monday morning I meet with the team and we class plan every class

Vipers year one and two
Cadets year one and two
Kickboxing year one and two
Muay Thai
Wrestling and Jiu jitsu monthly module

Every class plan follows on from last weeks continuing a theme until grading day, then we start a new chapter.

Dom and Ash, although far better than me now at their art, always ask for my input and some direction,

I watch them plan with a white belt mentality, just as they approach their own development.

We are artist, the mats are our canvas,

I see you in those mats

We all grow together, we are a team, See you on the mats
