Just a few of the wonderful comments from the survey πŸ₯Ή Makes it all worthwhile. ❀️

Some wonderful comments being shared on the survey 🀩 One issue raised is a lack of seating and I'm thrilled to say 10 new benches are being installed on Monday!

It makes our hearts sing to read that so many parents are noticing their kids ditching screens in favour of physical activity, friends and fun! πŸ’™

THE NEW BENCHES have arrived and they look fabulous πŸ‘Œ They'll be installed on Monday, all being well. Thanks again to all of the generous, local businesses who kindly sponsored a bench (fully paid for!)!

CAUTION: SHALLOW WATER

Please be aware that the swale between the skatepark and Sustrans path contains shallow standing water.

The swale is doing what it is designed to do by holding run-off and ground water, but those with little ones exploring around and behind the skatepark should be aware of it.

We have some warning signs on order which will be in place soon.

PS. We are aware of the puddling in some areas off the sides of the skatepark, which we hope to tackle soon.

HYBRID SKATE SPACE!

The charming village of Skellingthorpe just three miles from Lincoln is now home to this cleverly-designed, interconnected skate space from the good people at Wheelscape Skateparks as of this month.

πŸ’ŽThe challenge with all skatepark design is trying to please all user groups within a confined space, and here at #skellyskatepark the balance is intelligently struck by the use of pathways between sections which allow for flow between without the danger of stray boards causing a pile-up.

πŸ’ŽThe standalone mini-ramp is a perfect learning size and offers a potential but as-yet unconquered platform Ollie into the neighbouring pump section.

πŸ’ŽA larger transition section features a steep but avoidable hip section for the brave of heart which merges into a volcano/flyout section for daredevils of all stripes, Again, the fact that this section is almost self-contained with clear sightlines minimises the risk of novitiate users coming an unfortunate one.

πŸ’ŽA luxuriously long street section with plenty of flatground for games of S.K.A.T.E. and gentler features are framed by 3 almost jersey-barrier configurations which again suggest lines and protect against lost boards, each of which are bookended by the whippiest, skinniest transitions you ever did see.

All in all, a great use of space which offers radius and opportunity to shred for everyone.
Well done Wheelscape and congratulations Skelly!

We've found a pair of skates that were left in the car park yesterday.

If you were skating on Sunday and have lost some, send us a message with the size and description and you'll be reunited with them! πŸ›Ό
