If your brain still thinks you’re in your athletic prime, but your knees sound like popping bubble wrap every time you stand up, you belong with us!
Walking football at Lincoln Invictus is the game we all love, but at a slightly slower pace (even if it’s not always strictly walking! 😁) Come and share a laugh, and face the ultimate test of human willpower: fighting the urge to break into a sprightly jog to latch on to every through-ball!
We run three sessions a week on the 3G at Ruston's Sports and Bar, Newark Road, Lincoln, LN6 8RN on:
Mondays 10 am – Ladies only and Mixed
Wednesdays – 7 pm Mixed
Fridays – 10 am Ladies only and Mixed
Our Monday ladies’ sessions are run by our UEFA B coach, Lincoln Christer and assistant coach, Ryan. Even if you’ve never played before, they’ll make the learning experience fun and engaging. Ryan also runs the smaller Friday ladies’ game (3v3 or 4v4), where you can really put into practice everything you’ve learned.
Our website has our full schedule of mixed walking football and ladies-only sessions, as well as our Inclusive football sessions. You can find it at: https://www.lincolninvictus.co.uk/events
There’s no charge for your first session. After that, sessions cost £5.
But if you want to play regularly, we have very cost-effective annual membership options. Our 1-session-a-week plan can bring the price down to just £2.40 per game. Even better, the 2-session membership works out at an unbelievable £1.80 per session!
Ready to give it a go? You don’t need to book, but if you send us a message to let us know you’re coming, that’s always helpful.

Well-deserved, Andy! 👏👏
Our Player of the Day for the mixed Walking Football category of the Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament was awarded to...... 🥁🥁....Andy Naylor!
Andy is the Lincoln Invictus over 50s goalkeeper.
He made some incredible saves against lads half his age!
Leaping around like a salmon, Andy demonstrated skill, grit and determination.
Alongside his goalkeeping tekkers, Andy is a thoroughly nice guy who guided his team from the back
Well done Andy. Top performances 👏🏼🏆

Well done, JoJo! 👏👏
Our Player of the Day for the Ladies Walking Football category of the Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament was awarded to.....drumroll please....JoJo!!!
JoJo is a member of the Lincoln's Ladies team and had only played in one semi-competitve match prior to the Cup.
Jojo led from the back, supporting and encouraging the team whilst making some outstanding saves.
JoJo was universally praised for her performance and mentality.
Well done JoJo. Very impressive performances 👏🏼🏆
What a day: blistering heat, brilliant teamwork, and absolutely no running (well, OK, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad)!
Saturday morning’s walking football event at Ruston's Sports and Barckicked off the Club’s 2-day Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament, and delivered on all fronts across two well-contested competitions.
Here’s the run-down:
⚽ The Women’s Competition
Give it up for Lincoln's Ladies! Stepping onto the pitch for their very first tournament, they understandably had a few pre-match butterflies. But thanks to some top-tier coaching and borderline-fanatical support from Ryan, those nerves soon evaporated. They settled in, grew in confidence, and battled like seasoned pros.
The Invictus Inclusive Ladies found themselves short a couple of players on the day, but did that stop them? Not a chance. Armed with a rotating "rent-a-player" courtesy of Lincoln City Foundation, they put in a monumental shift. The heat definitely put them at a disadvantage, but the way this makeshift squad pulled together to work for each other was nothing short of inspiring. Hold your heads high, ladies!
Hats off, too, to the Leverington Lionesses, who grabbed the runner-up spot after dropping only two games all day. Amazingly, this team was formed less than a year ago and includes players with a whole range of footballing abilities. Led by their coach, Dan, they showed fantastic team spirit throughout. A brilliant performance!
And that leaves us with the winners of the ladies' competition: a huge congratulations to Lincoln City Foundation 🏆 They didn't just win all their games; they threw away the keys to their goal. Zero goals conceded. An absolute brick wall of a performance! Well done, ladies!
🏃♂️ The Over 50s v the Nowhere Near 50s Competition
With just days to go, two Over 50s teams had pulled out, leaving Invictus 50s and Ruskington 50s staring at a very short fixture list. Enter the heroes of the hour: two of our open-age Pan disability teams who valiantly stepped into the breach: Invictus Reds and Invictus Black!
If you thought the Pan players would struggle with the whole "no running" rule, you were sorely mistaken. Despite some having never played the walking version of football, they adapted in a flash. The attitude and the respect they showed, not just to the officials, their older opponents and each other, but also to the game, was an example to us all.
They made the 50s teams work for every single blade of grass (yes, the real thing, not 3G). None of the games were a walk in the park, and the tournament was decided by the finest of margins, ultimately coming down to the last game.
In the dying moments of the tournament, Invictus Reds managed to clutch a vital win, while Invictus 50s could only muster a draw.
That meant Invictus Reds finished with a point more than Invictus 50s, which saw them crowned the victors—a crushing blow to Invictus 50s. To rub salt in the wound, as they posed for photos with their winners and runners-up trophies, Lincoln (leading the Reds) was overheard bragging to Invictus 50s captain, Trevor, "Mine’s bigger than yours!" Seriously, Lincoln—there’s a time and a place...
Moving swiftly on...Officiating walking football is no easy gig. So, well done to our whistle-blowers for the day: Marcus, Shirl, Richard, Trevor, and Steve, who oversaw proceedings with calm authority.
A huge thank you to everyone who played, coached, loaned players, ref'd, and stepped in at the last minute to make it a fantastic morning of walking football!

The Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament 2026 officially kicks off this morning at Ruston's Sports and Bar! The scent of Deep Heat is already mingling with the freshly cut grass, and the stage is set for absolute, slow-motion chaos.
Here is what is on the menu today:
• Our 50s team is squaring up against Ruskington 50s. But, with two 50s teams having to pull out at short notice, two of our open-age Pan-disability teams have boldly stepped in to give the 50s a "run" for their money. And by "run," we mean a very aggressive, referee-monitored brisk walk, of course!
• Over in the ladies’ competition, the gloves are off. Lincoln’s Ladies are making their grand tournament debut, stepping up to face our formidable Pan ladies’ team, Lincoln City Foundation, and Leverington Lionesses.
⏱️ Here’s what you need to know:
• Kick-off: 10:00 AM sharp (or whenever the communal pre-match groaning and stretching concludes).
• Where: Ruston's Sports and Bar. (The "Bar" part will become crucial for hydration and post-match "recovery" strategies).
• Weather Warning: It is going to be an absolute scorcher out there today!
Pop down, grab a cold drink, and come support the players. Bring your Factor 50 sun cream and cheer them on before they completely melt onto the pitch! 🥵🥵
Good luck, everyone, and enjoy!! ⚽️⚽️

Whilst the youngsters at our Club were enjoying our usual Friday morning walking football session, our over-70s fired up the pacemakers and ventured across the Humber Bridge to reclaim some of the pride the 60s had left behind at the weekend.
Here’s their report of how it went, courtesy of Colin:
On Friday, 29 May, Lincoln Invictus 70s travelled to King George V Playing Fields in Cottingham for a return friendly against East Riding Rangers.
The game was played over four 15-minute sessions and provided a closely contested encounter with some excellent football on display from both sides.
Session Scores:
* 0–1
* 0–1
* 1–1
* 0–2
Overall, East Riding Rangers edged the match and deserved the victory, but there was very little between the teams throughout an enjoyable and competitive game.
The result may have gone their way, but we did manage to secure a victory off the pitch by winning the race to the sausage, chips, and bread and butter in the local pub afterwards! A big thank you to our hosts for their hospitality and for kindly providing the post-match food.
We look forward to meeting East Riding Rangers again in the future. ⚽👏🍟🌭

On Friday, 29 May 2026, our squad of seasoned septuagenarians—alongside a couple of others who are teetering on the edge of that precipice—will be lacing up their boots for a showdown against the East Riding Rangers.
The home match back in February very much went the Rangers’ way, but the 70s are now looking for revenge. Well, revenge might be a bit strong—after all, it is a friendly, so let’s just say, we want our ball back, please.
Expect a true tactical masterclass on the pitch. Forget the exhausting high press; this game will be all about pinpoint passing and letting the ball do the work. But enough about the Rangers—as for us, our tactics will be saving ourselves for the really hard part—making sure that none of the post-match sausage and chips goes to waste.
Good luck, everyone, and enjoy!
