A Midlands Area Training – Yellow Belts+ (10–16)
Good opportunity to train with players from across the Midlands and experience something different to your usual sessions.
📍 ryecroft judo club, Nottingham
⏰ 10:00–12:30
A great way to build confidence, improve, and step things up.
Let me know if you’re planning to go — would be good to get a Cherry group there.
We are looking forward to our first Midland Area Squad Training that's taking place in just a few weeks time!
Judoka from across the region who fulfil the criteria are all welcome to join this session that will consist of both technical instruction and randori.
🔹 Minimum grade yellow belt
🔹 Ages 10 to 16 (minors, pre-cadets and cadets)
🔹 Ryecroft Judo Club, Nottingham NG9 1GL
🔹 10am to 12.30
The emphasis on these sessions is to give our players the opportunity to train together and feel they are taking a step up the ladder from club judo.
The Midland Area Open Randori will continue to take place at Walsall (next session April 19th)
These sessions will not be forming part of the selection process for the Midland Area teams for the National Team Championships taking place in July. Bill Kelly, the area team manager, will continue to manage the team selection process using competition results, ranking positions and input from club coaches.
At the end of the year there will be an opportunity for everyone to share their views and consider how we move forward into 2027, and use your feedback to adjust the format if needed.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask... either by DM or email to [email protected]
We hope to see you and your players at Ryecroft JC on 22nd March......
if not, at Yamato JA on 17th May!

To all Our Judo mums 🥋❤️
Early mornings.
Long drives to competitions.
Empty purses.
Hoarse voices from cheering.
Schedules & Weekends that never slow down.
But through every throw, every loss, every medal and every moment on the mat — your support never wavers.
Through thick and thin, your love has been the anchor behind every young judoka standing tall today.
From all of us, thank you for everything you do.
Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️🥋
