Fish Bound Flies

Nice wee days fishing on Sunday at bowden springs fishery. Nice light ripple on the water when we arrived but a bite in the air. Started of fishing a red shimmer worm and a cheese squirmy. Started getting some actions immediately, took a wee bit to get the first one in the net but in she went and then the kept coming. Spells of lots of action and then spells of quiet. Tried a few different lures ect to no pulls or follows so back to the b**g! 30+ fish between the 4 of fishing. 🎣🎣🎣

Getting to that time of year when the b**g is king lol any flies needed give me a msg 🎣🎣🎣

Was out yesterday at orchil for a days fly fishing! Few bites early in but no hook ups! Tried the trusty red and olive apps with follows first cast then a hook up on 2nd cast I thought I’ve found what they want! Not another take lol ended up putting on the orange body cdc that has worked up there well recently. 4 fish to the net on this fly and missed a fair few! 🎣🎣🎣

Here’s how last weeks outing went at Eden Springs Fishery.

Was a slow start to the day tried a few dries with some attention from the fish but no hook ups! Moved in to the b**g and started getting some action had a few fish then moved and bang straight in to another. Stuck a dry on the other rod as fish weee moving and bang fish came straight up and nailed the fly. The fish turned out to be a cracking tiger with bright orange belly. Ended with 6 to the net. Only took a photo of two of them a nice 6.5 lb rainbow and the cracking tiger!

Been a busy year so far! The weather ain’t been great for fly fishing but still able to pick up a few fish. Had a wee trip to bowden springs last weekend, managed 7 including 2 nice browns. A wee visit to my local kinross yesterday, 4 to the net for myself including a cracking tiger. Tight lines to all 🎣🎣🎣
