Broomhedge 3-0 Moira

It was a successful derby day for the BMFC God Squad trio, with goals coming from Jonny Glasgow, Peter McKane and Callum Steenson. The boys started the game strongly and dominated possession. Plenty of missed chances meant we went in 0-0 at half time. We continued the second half with the same intensity and found the lead when substitute Callum Steenson played a perfect ball through to Jonny Glasgow, who placed one into the bottom corner. We then doubled the lead in the 84th minute when Callum Steenson found the net from range. We got our third goal 2 minutes later when a pinpoint ball from Ben Lindsay found Peter McKane, who produced a delightful chip over the keeper to find the net. A positive performance which puts us into the next round of the cup💪⚽️

Broomhedge 3-1 Epworth

The boys got off to a lacklustre start and struggled to retain possession in a scrappy first half. With several missed chances and wasted opportunities, the only positive was that we didn’t allow the opposition to have many shots on goal for the majority of the half. However, we found ourselves 1-0 just before the half when a defensive error played their striker clean through on goal. A well needed half time team talk, and a masterful tactical change to introduce Ethan Hamilton, saw a revitalised Broomhedge take the field in the second half. A spell of domination, followed with an equaliser when Matty Mawhinney played a short corner to Ethan hamilton, who delivered a pinpoint cross onto the head of Dylan Devlin, whose thunderous header found the top corner. We took the lead 5 minutes later when a delightful pass from substitute Johnny Shannon found Ethan hamilton, who delivered another pinpoint cross onto the foot of Alan MacDonald who made it 2-1. It only took 4 more minutes for Ethan Hamilton to find the net himself, with a fantastic effort from outside the box. The boys played some great football in the second half, and some rock solid defending allowed us to see out the 3-1 win. A game of 2 halves, and some big performances from the bench from both Ethan Hamilton and Johnny Shannon. Onto the next one💪⚽️
